Circle-8 Textile Ecosystems’ Post

Circular textiles making waves and stimulating action in the Nordics, and beyond. Thank you TOMRA Textiles team for raising the bar. #circulartextiles

It was such a delight to participate in TOMRA's A New Textile Revolution event at The Conduit in Oslo earlier this week. I learned a lot, met some incredible people and enjoyed conversations with the likes of Jenny Skavlan from FÆBRIK (who last year filled a Viking Ship full of 6,000 avid upcyclers, knitters and vintage aficionados in a celebration of sustainable textiles) and Simen Mørdre, of Vandre AS, (ex-CCO Mammut Sports Group AG and dedicated mountaineer) working to enable an optimised #repair and claims system across brands, retailers and repair centres, making it easy for consumers to get stuff fixed. Silje Lambrechts from Summa Equity provided a breath of fresh air with a call out for more investment in technology to make circularity in the textile industry a reality while Silje Christine Augustson from Esperance Lifestyle shared learnings from creating luxury design with a minimalist approach. The wonderful Jo Eikeland Roald seamlessly brought the whole event together with Vibeke Siljan Krohn facilitating insightful discussions with Nordic politicians and driven entrepreneurs making change happen. Thank you to Vibeke, Jo and the growing TOMRA Textiles team Johanna Stemberger, Mari Larsen Sæther, Louisa Hoyes, Malte Althaus, Dr. Thilo Becker for the opportunity to share a few reflections from years developing Worn Again Technologies and new adventures with Circle-8 Textile Ecosystems. Your leadership in driving this area forward is greatly needed and much welcomed! #circulartextiles #nordics
