Meet Kelly Arnsdorf, our May #EmployeeSpotlight, who has been with the company for 1 year! Kelly is our Vancouver Receiving Supervisor and we have asked him to answer some questions so you can get to know him better! As a Receiving Supervisor, I am keenly aware that each day, my team and I have a positive impact on the company's success, our colleagues' endeavors, and, most importantly, the creations, designs, and dreams of our customers. Through dedication, attention to detail, accuracy, and hard work, my team and I leave a lasting impression. I often reflect on the intricate journey a fabric roll undergoes from its inception to its fulfillment. From designers, weavers, and planners to our logistics partners, warehouses, and ultimately into the waiting hands of the customer, every step is crucial. As a Receiving Supervisor, I don't simply handle and transport products; I handle a customer's vision. While I am not alone in this process, as there are many helping hands along the way, I play a critical role in ensuring that the fabric reaches its final destination—the customer. What is the most exciting part about your position? The most exciting aspect of my position lies in several areas. Firstly, witnessing the return of satisfied customers, knowing they trust our services, brings immense satisfaction. Secondly, ensuring 100% accuracy instills confidence in our customers, demonstrating our expertise and reliability. Additionally, at Ennis Fabrics, I have the opportunity to engage in forward-thinking endeavors, exploring innovations in warehousing, technology, and automation. This allows me to integrate my logistics expertise with my background in information technology, envisioning and implementing strategies for enhanced operational efficiency. Lastly, the joy of contributing to beautifying the world through vibrant colors, one roll at a time, adds a creative and fulfilling dimension to my role. What do you do the ensure a healthy work-life balance? Maintaining a healthy work-life balance is crucial to me, especially given the demands of working in a warehouse environment. To counteract the indoor work atmosphere, I prioritize spending time outdoors, embarking on adventures with my wife to explore new and captivating places. As a computer enthusiast, I immerse myself in the world of gaming, where I've developed a complex scenario for an MMO game incorporating elements from popular Sci-Fi franchises like Star Wars, Star Trek, Dune, Stargate, and BSG. Witnessing my creative vision come to life on screen is immensely fulfilling. Additionally, I indulge my passion for art, particularly in crafting Sci-Fi creations inspired by current events. Lastly, I cherish quality time with great friends, engaging in meaningful conversations over good beer, which adds a social and relaxing dimension to my life outside of work.

In the #EmployeeSpotlight this week is Kyaius Grant, Fleet Specialist Team Lead, London, who tells us a bit more about his role: 🌟 What do you do at Voi? 🌟 As team lead, I organise the warehouse and manage the fleet team throughout the day. I also check we are meeting performance targets, and keep an eye on stock and general warehouse health and safety. 🌟 Describe a typical day at Voi for you. 🌟 I open up the warehouse in the morning, load batteries into vans and set up the ‘in field’ team (who manage our fleet on the streets) with areas they are working. I also help and monitor the team of mechanics in the warehouse throughout the day. Then I will count stock, check for any invoices, diagnose and quality check scooters. I’ll also join any meetings I have for the day and do admin work on my laptop before closing up the warehouse. 🌟 Why did you choose to work at Voi? 🌟 I’d previously worked for Voi and I liked the company - so I jumped at the chance to work for them again in London. 🌟 Tell us about some work you’ve done or are doing at Voi that you’re most proud of. 🌟 I’m proud of my role in setting up the London warehouse, from organising the warehouse and stock to helping run the London operations. 🌟 What did you do before Voi? 🌟 I worked in sales before joining Voi in 2021. #TeamCulture #CompanyValues #WorkplaceExcellence

Managing Partner at The Foundation. Author of The Human Experience. Making life better for customers.
The three things that people care most about at work: Uniforms, Desk Position, and Job Title. What you wear, where you sit, what you're called. I noticed my old employers had launched their new uniforms a couple of weeks ago, and it reminded me of the three things that we used to joke always seemed to cause the most consternation and argument amongst the team. Once when working in a global team, I was told we no longer needed to wear a tie. But yet, when we went into a meeting with the big boss, we'd all reach into our drawers, pull out a tie, and put it on. And I once heard that if you went to visit the Hong Kong office, the desk they gave you signified how important they thought you were. The closer to the window, the more you mattered. I've succumbed to the job title thing myself, too. When I was Head of Customer Innovation at HSBC, I insisted on that being the title, rather than the group-aligned 'Senior Customer Innovation Manager'. I figured there was no-one else in the team, so I must be the head of it, right? In some ways these are silly. But in others, you can see why they matter. Small ways to show status, feel valued, have some control in a role or big company where you might not always feel like you have it.

Inspiring talent worldwide to be part of #teamlidl and grow with us. | Head of Employer Brand International @LIDL | Ex-BCGer
Recap 6 Month as a Head of EB For six months already, I have been leading the Global Employer Branding team and I couldn't imagine a more rewarding task 😊 My three key takeaways so far and yes I know it's nothing new, but in times like these I feel the importance of the topics: 💙 Being most transparent as you can! ❤️ Understanding their needs! Listening and understanding what each individual team member needs. 💛 Trust! Appreciative and trusting interaction is a must. I actually expect that from everyone 😉 What's next? The picture below was taken at the beginning of March during our first team day in which we worked on the strategy, tasks, responsibilities and challenges in the team. Since then, there have been several on-site team meetings, after-work dinners, innovation sessions and much more. Due to our customers, the 30+ Lidlcountry colleagues worldwide, we necessarily work remotely a significant amount of time, but on-site meetings are still important for us, especially when new team members arrive. For me, it's the mix that makes the difference. The next team events are already planned virtually and in person - stay tuned! Thank you for your trust: Alexandra Degenring, Britta Christiansen, Franziska Rau, Karolina Boruczkowska, Katerina Altiparmaki, Larissa Meier, Lea Würzler, Lena Fredersdorf, Lesley Richards, Livia Bauernschmidt, Lion Heiler, Maren Hauler, Nadine Ederle, Natalie Zimmermann, Sabrina Reich, Thyra Bockrath. I'm looking forward to what we'll rock together 🤘 #teamlidl #employerbranding #wearelid #onboarding #onyourteam #lidlinternational #iamalidler

Have you get taken a step back to understand what your work life looks like? I’m doing this right now! No day is the same, in many way’s, but a lot is and that allow’s some routine and structure. This is vital in any job role you have. Hi I’m Ian, an Express Store Manager for Tesco in Devon. As I type I have taken some of the below from another source, edited and added but ultimately it’s what happens in a Store Managers life. I wanted to share this with you today to allow you to stop, step back and evaluate where you are! Up before the birds, pulling in deliveries in all weather’s, in every season, whilst looking rather stylish my high vis jacket and steel toe caps boots, before being on the shop floor,in and around my team and our great customers whom we serve within the community, to prepping the store at the end of the trading day ready for the next. My job is varied! Its fun! It’s everything! Being a cleaner, to managing work and pay, Being a first aider to being part of process and routine, Playing my part in Human Resources to ensuring we are legal. From the smallest of task, to the greater ones within the big picture of working as part of an industry leader brings. It’s EVERY LITTLE thing we do that our customers probably never think about, see or realise and then some again that HELPS. I’d never ask my team to do anything that I wouldn’t do. And I’m far happier when I can get away from the back office and get busy on the shopfloor. That’s where the magic and fun happens. Whether it’s filling a shelf, mopping a spillage, serving on the tills, just being present for the colleagues and the customers, that’s where I am at my happiest, where I am fulfilled and where the enjoyment is! When you mingle with the customers, spend time with the store colleagues, coach, listen and learn with them, your brain kicks in and you can see the opportunities to make everything simply BETTER! If you’re a manager, irrespective of your sector, allow yourself to get out there and see what happens at the grass roots. You’ll be a far better leader for it! And everyone, be it the store colleagues and / or the customers benefit. Living by your Purpose, Goal’s, Vision’s and Dream’s will also allow all of the above to flourish. It’s taken myself a while to get back on the right path. Now I deliver… Thank you for reading

Hi, we are the Kärchers, and today we're very proud to give you a sneak peek at our new global employer branding campaign. It's loud; it's infectious; it's sparkling, it's fun, and, most importantly, it's designed to introduce people around the world to our WOW culture as an employer and to showcase how diverse we are and what roles we have to offer.
