Managing Director @ Faiā | Culture-Tech Innovator | 3x Founder & Fractional CCO | Ex-Head of Community @ Bitcoin Association
"𝗬𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁?!" As a Fractional Chief Community Officer (fCCO), I've heard this reaction more times than I can count. It's not surprising. The role is still new, and many people underestimate the power of community in today's tech world. But let me tell you, community-driven growth is a force to be reckoned with. It's not just numbers. It's about dealing with 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦, creating genuine stories and garnering real impact. And being a fCCO means I get to lead them towards growth and success. It means I get to use my experience and expertise to make a difference. It's not always easy, but it's incredibly fulfilling. It's like being a conductor of an orchestra, making sure every instrument is playing in harmony, and creating something beautiful. So, if you're considering becoming a fCCO, don't let the confusion or the naysayers hold you back. Embrace the unknown, and trust in the power of community. https://lnkd.in/dkQ7mjDb

I’ve been a creative professional long enough now that calculating just how many years involves some math. One thing that I have observed is that many of the people I am the closest to, the people I hold dear, the people I trust… these friendships were formed both in the trenches and on the roller coaster ride of work. Working with Mark Hanson for the past 4+ years at Heartbeat Health has been a privileged opportunity. Before this chapter, Mark introduced me to my first startup experience at Upside. I had learned so much from Mark during that time, when he presented a chance to join Heartbeat as a Founding Designer, I was excited to apply those lessons. A priority in my work has always been to continue learning, yet I had no idea what was in store for me. To say these past years have been formative is a great understatement. The lessons I have learned from Mark have been impressed on me in the best way possible… by embodying a way of being that I greatly admire. • A persistent optimism combines well with a seeking work ethic. • Be scrappy yet sensible in resourcefulness. • Methods to organization and setting oneself up for success aren’t an accident. • It’s better when you bring your whole self to work. • Hold onto your authentic self. • See others where they are without judgment. • Seek clarity and protect your boundaries. • Context is everything. • Be comfortable being uncomfortable. As Mark embarks on his next chapter… I can’t wait to see what he gets into next, and I can only hope to have a chance to work together again.

Global AI Ethicist | Oye, Mira | AI Architect | Founder & CEO | LinkedIn Top Voice 🌎 Ethical AI Maverick and Social Impact Visionary. Developer of Justice AI
Oye, mira. Five years ago, I found myself trapped in an unfortunate situation at a prominent position in my corporate job. Despite my hard work to achieve this role, I faced constant frustration, humiliation, and targeting, which left me feeling hopeless. My life was overshadowed by depression, compounded by abusive individuals in my family, workplace, and community. Many things can drive someone to entrepreneurship, but the decisive moment often comes with a clear declaration: enough is enough. I started my business just before the explosion of COVID-19 and the Black Lives Matter movement, navigating the complexities of maintaining my integrity and conviction while running a small business. As an activist in the South during one of the most racially charged periods in recent history, I struggled to build a client base among those who actively voted against my well-being and that of others. Despite the challenges, nothing was worse than the abusive environment I escaped. I'd sell feet pics before returning to work for the system. Today, my business remains a one-person operation. I reflect on the 25 years spent building this brand, the times I questioned my efforts when bills piled up, and how my passions were gifts that pulled me out of poverty and ensured my children always had food. Every crucial conversation, failure, heartbreak, and moment of fear became tools to build a powerful brand. Through my MOD brand, I've established seven income-generating micro-businesses, worked with Fortune 500 companies, and still support mom-and-pop shops. I've produced an award-winning feature film, assisted over 300 businesses and brands, and developed the world's first ethical AI, Justice A.I. I don't know where my business will be in five years, but I know it's heading upward. To everyone who doubted me, thank you. Your negativity had no bearing on my success. Go after what you want the most. Figure out how to silence the bullshit. Then, execute. Celebrating five years of self-employment this year, I still wait tables to network and take side jobs for my micro-brands. The beauty is that I no longer have to. Don't let anything, especially yourself, stand in your way. There are no excuses. Let's pop champagne. www.modatlasmedia.com #5yearanniversary #modatlasmedia #anniversary #business #goals

Always remember those people whose back you stepped on to be where you are today. Don't be selfish. Give back. Life is not a race or competition. As you grow older, you realise that all those corporate battles, business rivalry is vanity and the most fulfilling thing in life is sharing and helping the next generation rise.
