Our urgent care is here to provide care for sunburns. Learn what to do about sunburns and when to seek care. What can you do to prevent sunburns? Summer is the time of year filled with fun, activities, and above all, sunshine time! Make sure you protect yourself and your family from harmful sun rays that can cause a sunburn. Sunburn Prevention: 1. Apply sunscreen with a high SPF (30) before going outside, and reapply every two hours. 2. Wear protective clothing, such as hats, sunglasses, and long-sleeved shirts. 3. Seek shade during the sun's peak hours, typically between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. 4. Be mindful of reflective surfaces like water, sand, and snow, which can increase the risk of sunburn. 5. Wear sunglasses that protect your eyes from UV damage. Our urgent care provides treatment for sunburns! If you have a severe sunburn with blistering, intense pain, fever, or chills, it's important to seek medical care. Additionally, if you notice signs of infection in the burned area, such as increasing redness, swelling, or drainage of pus. Our urgent care can advise on over-the-counter therapies, prescribe medication when needed, and provide IV hydration for mild dehydration cases. #sunburn #sunburns #sunburnt #sunburntreatment #urgentcare #doctors #summer #Summer2024 #summertime #sunshine
