Oregon followed in '87's wake, Labor Day laws they didn’t forsake. **Verse 2:** By 1889, Europe saw the light, May 1 declared, workers’ right. 1894, the U.S. joined the fray, Making Labor Day a holiday. **Bridge:** "Arbeit macht das Leben süß"—German words for all, "Work makes life sweet," it’s the universal call. Across 60 nations, on different days, Labor’s spirit never sways. **Verse 3:** Parades and rallies, speeches, awards, Workers unite, they break all cords. Solidarity’s flame, it burns so bright, In the heart of every Labor fight. **Chorus:** From zenith high to nadir’s depth, Workers’ struggle, we won’t forget. In caverns deep, where history hides, Labor’s legacy, still it rides. **Outro:** Solo Leveling 🤣 dreamwork with a nerdy drive, Excel we shall, let’s strive and thrive. Anyway, stay safe, in the cavernous night, Between zenith and nadir, we seek the light. Ms. Strange news 🗞️ update, spread the vibe, History hidden, but truth revives. **Final Thought:** Remember, learn something new each day, Like Black Wall Street, swept away. Towns once flourished, now submerged below, Stories haunted, but still they glow. So happy Labor Day, let’s ponder and reflect, On what we’ve lost, and what’s next to protect. --- **#LaborDayLegacy #HistoryUnveiled #ZenithToNadir #StayWoke #SolidarityForever #MsStrangeNews**

Monday is Labor Day…a well-earned holiday and an unofficial end to the summer season….but it is also more than that. Amidst the BBQs and Back to School sales, it is easy to forget the “Labor” on Labor Day. But we have an opportunity to center workers who have advocated for strong labor movements both historically and in the present day. The future of work is not AI; it is not technology-based. It is always rooted in labor’s ability to advocate for fair wages/benefits, decent and safe work conditions, and respect and accountability on behalf of the bosses. Opposition to labor movements has often run through the lens of anti-communism rhetoric…anti-Blackness has also been a part of dividing labor based on race antagonism. You can read more in a few of these books: Subterranean Fire - Sharon Smith The Long Deep Grudge - Toni Gilpin Hammer and Hoe - Robin D. G. Kelly and of course Black Scare/Red Scare by Charisse Burden-Stelly whom I had the pleasure to interview for episode #199 of The Deep Dive Listen here —> https://lnkd.in/dgNur9KB
