🌍 Go Circular or Go Home: The Road to Nature Positive Business 🌍 To become #naturepositive, businesses need to reduce their environmental footprint and contribute to nature conservation, restoration or regeneration.  This journey needs to embrace the principles of circularity whenever they can. ⚠️ Despite increased awareness, global circularity has decreased from 21% since 2018, according to the 2024 circularity gap report from the Circle Economy, highlighting the urgent need for action! 💡 The Global Circularity Protocol (GCP) by the WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development offers a standardized framework to help companies shift to a circular economy. 🚀 It supports target-setting, measuring, and reporting on circularity, aiming to reduce material consumption, cut emissions, and promote environmental health. The protocol’s expected outcomes include a 4-5% reduction in global material use and significant greenhouse gas and air pollution reductions by 2050. #ICYMI Despite the growing emphasis on sustainability, there's a critical gap in how product design and sourcing sustainability metrics are tracked. Over two in five organizations admit to haphazard or nonexistent monitoring of crucial #sustainability metrics such as waste generation (43%), scope 1 and 2 (42%), scope 3 (41%) greenhouse gas emissions, and recycled or reused materials/components (40%).
