It’s not only about the environment, there needs to be a strong business case for the circular economy. Jane Martin, CEO at City to Sea, told last year’s Festival of Circular Economy that circular businesses need to be confident that when they come to market, people are ready and an excited to engage with them. Martin spoke at last year’s Festival of Circular Economy on the Women in Circular Panel: A Circular Approach to the Bottom Line panel. #FOCE #circulareconomy #sustainability

This was a wonderful session I attended at Recycled Materials Association (ReMA)'s conference in April; hearing the journeys of women doing serious mahi globally in the recycled materials industry. I'm inspired - thank you! Susie Burrage OBE Bureau of International Recycling (BIR) Antonia Biggs Fuenzalida Asociación Nacional de la Industria del Reciclaje A.G Mary Wardle AWMI - Association Of Women In The Metal Industries - International My team here in NZ have always said we can sell our recycled materials 10 times over offshore. I never really believed it until I experienced the demand within the exhibition hall, within seminars, in the hallways as I commuted between the events. Buyers from all around the world approaching Eldon Reeve, Murray Smith and I constantly; wanting Phoenix's high quality renewable recycled materials - to increase the recycled content of their materials within their sustainable manufacturing processes. Phoenix Recycling Group were Deloitte's 2023 NZ National Fast50 - fastest growing exporter last year. Phoenix also won New Zealand Trade and Enterprise's 2023 National Investment for Growth Award. We are doing the right thing, even from Aotearoa NZ; its makes sense. Even with the distances travelled. Yes, we're tracking and carbon counting to make sure it's worth it. #ToituTogether Robin Wiener Jennifer S. Loved seeing this room full of women at the ReMA Women in Recycling Council (WIR) sponsored session last week in Vegas called From Visionaries to Leaders: Breaking Barriers in the Recycled Materials Industry. Moderated by Nina Grimes we heard from Susie Burrage OBE, Antonia Biggs Fuenzalida, and Mary Wardle from AWMI. Tag yourself in the picture below #WIR #isri2024 #ReMA

Founder Renewcell / Promote Battery circularity. Provides 2nd life for lead acid and nickel cadmium batteries used in industrial application.
Absolutely correct. We have been promoting the reuse and repurposing of lead-acid/nickel-cadmium batteries but face challenges in advocating for battery circularity. Many are focused on single-use and material recovery rather than extending the lifespan of batteries. The government needs to strengthen rules related to the disposal and recycling potential of good capacity batteries. #circular economy #sustainability #battery #Malaysia

Our latest blog is inspired by this week’s Women in Transformation breakfast led by Mathilda Börjesson and Jacqueline Shakespeare. We're talking all about making businesses greener without giving up on success. It's about the big moves companies are making towards being better for our planet, and how different generations are shaking things up. If you're curious about how doing good can also mean doing well in business, we'd love to hear from you. https://lnkd.in/e73Ve2Mw #WomenInTransformation #Sustainability #BusinessStrategy #FutureOfWork
