📢 The 2024 Earthshot Prize Winners were announced in a historic ceremony in Cape Town - the first time this prestigious environmental award has been hosted in Africa. Green Financing offers sustainable solutions to ensure water security, providing the funds needed for critical infrastructure, innovative technologies, and community projects. From desalination plants and smart water systems to clean water access for underserved populations, green financing enables impactful initiatives. Carbon Check recently completed an on-site inspection for the #verification of an #Afforestation/ #Reforestation (A/R) project in #Colombia.   This project, located in the Eastern Colombian Department of #Vichada within and around the Bita River Basin, has been developed and refined over the past fifteen years. It is a testament to collaborative efforts aimed at improving the resilience of subsistence communities, fostering #sustainable #environments, eradicating poverty and hunger, promoting accessible education, and building regional partnerships.   The initiative is a transformative effort to restore degraded grasslands, enhance biodiversity, and empower local communities through sustainable afforestation practices.
