2024 has seen many #plantbased and #circular #startups really struggle. 2025 could be even rougher. But the legislative environment favours bold new start ups. The circular bioeconomy still needs a lot more players.

It's tough out there. Really tough. So many businesses going to the wall. When you work in multiple industries, you probably see several each week. Sad to see the closure of allplants | B Corp™ Waterford Whisky Distillery Dizzie It's only two months since Material Innovation Initiative began to wind down operations. I still can't quite process that. It's been a brutal year. But some of the most promising start ups are going from strength to strength. I'm advising a handful of companies across the world, and I feel that they have all achieved important milestones in the last six months. 2025 is going to be no easier, in fact it will be tougher. But I'm optimistic - legislation will bolster numerous businesses. There is everything to play for - and many founders are much stronger than they were pre-Covid. Keeping an eye out for new ventures from many of those who were too early to market.
