Great discussions at Proptech yesterday especially on the panel about #sustainablearchitecture. It was discussed how the emphasis on energy consumption in the built environment industry has overshadowed the critical impact of architectural spaces on mental and physical health. Designing for energy efficiency is crucial, but so is creating spaces that promote well-being. This balance ensures that while buildings are environmentally sustainable, they also support the health and happiness of those who use them, acknowledging the profound effects that spaces can have on human health. Adaptive Reuse. That’s like every real estate investor’s guide to finding undervalued deals with high growth potential this year. 1. Become a conversion expert. 2. Repurpose and reposition. Repurpose and reposition what? - Absolutely anything. Anything that doesn’t work anymore: 1. Empty offices 2. Closed-down hotels 3. Underused retail shops 4. Zombie shopping malls 5. Abandoned industrial sites You can turn them to anything, too: mixed-use spaces, urban logistics hubs, or into each other. Shh. Don’t ask more. Adaptive Reuse. (AND it’s sustainable.)

Space as a finite resource - Less + More More than ever, we need to be more conscious about the resources we use, but rarely is space considered as a finite resource in City planning & making. Creating new space is hugely intensive in the material required and the carbon created. In considering the future of cities and how we create living spaces more sustainably, we need to reassess the concept of home. Noiascape believe the concept of home needs to be re-thought. Through innovating new ways to live there is an opportunity to transform the cultural & social life of cities. Our buildings challenge the conventional spatial approach to the concept of home, as we ask a fundamental question; Can we own Less, but access More? By condensing private space while increasing shared space, cities can be developed more sustainably. Shared spaces can also be public, creating opportunities to intensify the social and cultural life of cities and creating cities that are sustainable, diverse, and experiential. #modernurbanliving #cityliving #servicedliving #coliving #culture #socialinteraction #innovatetogetbetter

Are green buildings truly commanding higher rents? The debate continues, and Praveen Hassan Chandrashekar, Director of SJ’s Sustainability & Resilience Office sheds light on the complex factors at play. While some claim up to 30% higher rents, Praveen highlights that location and access to public transport are still the primary drivers. However, as the push for decarbonisation grows, so does the demand for sustainable spaces. As we continue to navigate the balance between sustainability and economic value, it's clear that the future of real estate lies in green, but the true premium is in the details. #sustainability
