Parenting Educator and Consultant, TEDx speaker, Co-creator of Woodline Primary, Speaker for The Resilience Project.Author of best selling book - Raising Resilient and Compassionate Children.
Heading into our 4th year Woodline Primary this quote resonates with me on an even deeper level. The last few years has provided us with extraordinary evidence as to what is possible when children feel calm, connected and with a sense of belonging. I believe as a society we must prioritize emotional safety in education. 💫 This can look like choice and autonomy, non punitive environments and making it safe enough for children to express how they feel, whilst teaching them healthy ways to express themselves. 💫 4 years in we are seeing the shifts and changes. We are seeing growth emotionally and academically. We are seeing what is possible for education when we put the child at the centre of the story. 💫 Isn’t this what you would have wanted when you were at school? 💫 Claire Bartlett #itstimeforchange #emotionalsafety #traumainformed #laelstone #woodlineprimary #buildaschool #connection #trauma

Pencil pillars in the cafeteria of Rome Elementary School. Love it! Cafeteria is a very challenging space, but it could also be turned into a very productive space with some innovations and creative ideas. What are some fun things you do or have done in your elementary/middle/high cafeteria? #K12 #education #educationalleadership

This is AWESOME!! Thanks Kyle for this post; it's definitely worth reposting. We have to start teaching our kids personal skills; how to shake hands; how to introduce themselves; yes, how to look someone in the eye without getting triggered or melting down. These kids are learning important life skills. The majority of todays young professionals won't shake hands; if they do, its the "dead fish" hand shake. There are important character metrics that men use to size up colleagues, and how people handle introductions is one of them.

"A North Texas kindergarten class has a daily morning routine of shaking hands, making eye contact and smiling every day when they start class." REPOST if you think this should be in EVERY classroom in America! REPOST with a comment if you think the Pledge of Allegiance should be as well!! #thinblueline #lawenforcement
