As we confront the pressing #challenges of #climatechange, the role of sustainable materials has never been more critical. At Plastrans Technologies GmbH, we are committed to advancing the polymer industry through innovative solutions that minimize environmental impact. The strategic use of recycled polymers is a powerful tool in our mission to reduce the carbon footprint of polymer production. Here's how: 🔋 Up to 75% Energy Savings: Did you know that producing recycled polymers requires significantly less energy than manufacturing virgin plastics? This reduction in energy consumption directly translates to fewer carbon emissions, making recycled polymers a cornerstone of our sustainability efforts. ♻️ Enabling a Circular Economy: Recycling polymers not only keeps plastic waste out of landfills and incinerators—where it could contribute to greenhouse gas emissions—but also ensures that these materials are kept in circulation. This approach supports a circular economy where products are continuously reused, maximizing their value and minimizing environmental impact. 🚚 Cutting Down on Transportation Emissions: Local recycling initiatives can reduce the need for long-distance transportation of raw materials, which further decreases the carbon emissions associated with the polymer supply chain. ⚡ Balancing Performance and Sustainability: Our commitment to sustainability doesn't mean compromising on quality. We combine recycled and bio-based polymers with high-performance materials to deliver products that meet both environmental standards and rigorous performance demands. Our solutions are designed to help you meet your sustainability goals without sacrificing performance. Let’s innovate for a greener future, together.

♻️ Textile recycling is essential in achieving successful circular economy, and yet its development is just in its infancy. 👉 According to McKinsey, only 2.2 tonnes of textiles are collected in Europe, the rest ends up in landfills or incineration plants. Technology can change this! 🔵 We at ANDRITZ work hand in hand with international partners in order to combine expertise in plant engineering with process knowledge and innovative approaches – addressing everything from automated sorting, mechanical and chemical textile recycling to combined processes. We have recently launched a new project: 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗖𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝟰.𝟬. Together with our partners Nouryon, Kraton Corporation, SCGC - SCG Chemicals, EKI, Energy-IO, Radboud University, Universiteit Maastricht, we are excited to take the next step in revolutionizing smart formulation in mechanical plastic recycling to close the circular value chain. Why PlastiCycle 4.0? 🌐: - There is still a lack of understanding how to convert sorted plastic waste into marketable, high-quality recycled plastic via mechanical recycling - This lack leads to an imbalance between supply and demand - Large producers of materials and end products, looking for quick solutions, often prefer (thermo-)chemical recycling over mechanical methods This project aims to change that. How? With PlastiCycle 4.0, we aim to explore new potential of quality-based recycling via leading edge technologies in analytics, physical processing, chemical interaction and stability, and digitalization. By using advanced sensing, processing, and digital technologies we want to improve plastic circularity for Dutch industries. ♻️ Learn more on our project page 👉🏼 https://lnkd.in/gW5Jn_Hz #modelling #MechanicalRecycling #additives #AI
