The new reality of Brand pricing (WAC) is here, and it's not looking good for pharmacies. A generalized breakdown of a blended catalog, WAC at invoice of the top 200 Brands shows that brand prices are becoming increasingly blended for all pharmacies. Here's a look at the numbers: - WAC > 4.0 = 9.9% - WAC > 3.0 = 4.7% - WAC > 2.0 = 72.9% - WAC > 1.0 = 6.6% - WAC > 0.0 = 6.7% Just 5 years ago, an independent pharmacy owner negotiating a brand WAC with their primary represented 80% of their brand catalog. But times have changed, and pharmacies must adapt to this new reality.
