Pleased to announce the publication of two research papers I co-authored, reflecting our ongoing commitment to understanding complex healthcare dynamics. "Emergency Department Utilization Trends: An In-Depth Analysis Using NAMCS" - This work, developed with Thao Nguyen and Yasamine Salkar, is now available in the PESA International Journal of Social Studies. It provides an analysis of trends in emergency department utilization, a vital area impacting healthcare efficiency and patient care. "Exploring Determinants of Life Expectancy: A Comprehensive Analysis of Health, Socioeconomic, and Environmental Factors in European Countries" - Co-authored with Eunice Mulenda, this paper has been published in the International Journal of Economic Studies. It investigates the factors influencing life expectancy across European nations, offering insights that are critical for policy formulation and public health improvements. Appreciative of all collaborators for their dedication and hard work. Congrats to the Global and Women’s Health, School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Monash University team (led by Jane Fisher) who conducted a secondary data analysis of the 2022 National Women's Health Survey (which is run annually by Jean Hailes for Women's Health) to provide evidence of the effects of social determinants on the capacity of women from across Australia to access and understand health information. This study is the first to provide evidence that the social determinants of health such, as limited English language proficiency, limited financial resources, not having a tertiary education, or identifying as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, reduce women’s capacity to access and understand health information.
