By applying now, you can take advantage of the lower competition and increase your chances of standing out to employers. By applying for retail jobs now, you can get a head start on your competition and potentially secure an interview before the new year. Make a good impression and you may just secure that job and have a start date all ready to go come January. A lot of hiring managers at this time of year may temporarily freeze their recruitment activities to see what talent comes into the pipeline come the new year. ⚠ We continue to hear that college students are getting targeted via job scams at a high rate in university settings. At MSU, we have received complaints from students who have offered up a voided check to receive a bonus, bought gift cards on behalf of the company before getting reimbursed, and even authorizing these scam recruiters access to secure information through our campus system.
