The UK has introduced an Electronic Travel Authorisation ETA.   This is a new requirement for nationals of countries who do not need a visa to visit the UK. 📣 From the 25 October the scheme will only be available to nationals of Qatar planning to visit the UK from 15 November 2023.   📣 On 1 February 2024, the scheme will extend to citizens of Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Saudia Arabia or the UAE intending to visit the UK from 22 February 2024.   Other non-visa countries will be added to the scheme thereafter.   🖋 The ETA will cost £10 and is valid for 2 years (if your passport expires before your ETA, a new ETA will be required). Each traveller, including children, must have an ETA. Anyone can apply on behalf of others, and you should receive a decision within 3 days, unless further investigations are necessary.   If your application is refused, you will be required to apply for a visa.   ⚠ It is important to note that the ETA only gives you permission to travel to the UK, not permission to enter the UK. In case you missed it: The UK government’s Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) scheme had commenced operation. Under the ETA system, all visa-free nationals will need to obtain digital permission to travel or transit through the UK. From October 25, 2023, #qatari nationals can apply for an ETA – which will be necessary for #travel ✈ or #transit ⏱ through the United Kingdom for such nationals as from November 15, 2023. The scheme is set to expand to other nationalities throughout 2024 in phases. TRAVEL UPDATE FOR VISITORS TO ISRAEL: The rules for travel to Israel have changed. Starting from August 2024, visitors from visa-exempt countries are required to obtain an ETA-IL(Electronic Travel Authorization) to enter the state of Israel. An approved ETA-IL, indicates that you are allowed to travel to Israel and stay for up to 90 days per visit. All travelers to Israel must have a valid visa or ETA-IL approval before they start their journey. If you are eligible, obtaining an ETA-IL is a simpler and faster process.
