3 Ways being a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Athlete for Over a Decade has Helped my Online Business: (inspired by Mike Bell 🗓️⚡️) 1. Stay Calm When Things Get Tough: In Jiu-Jitsu, when things get really hard, I learned to stay cool and think clearly. This helps in my business too. When there are big problems, I don't panic. I think about what to do next and try to keep cool. 2. Good Stuff Takes Time: I've been doing Jiu-Jitsu for a long time but I still don't have a black belt. This taught me that you can't rush success. In my business, I know it's important to keep working hard, even if it takes a while to see big wins. 3. Practice over Perfection: In Jiu-Jitsu, you get better by practicing a lot, not by being perfect all the time. I use this idea in my business too. It's better to keep trying and learning than to worry about making everything perfect. These lessons from my Jiu-Jitsu training helped me a lot in running my business. They remind me to stay calm, be patient, and keep working hard. Also, included an old picture so all of you can see how Alex with Einstein hair looked 😂

Personal Executive Coaching for senior leaders & lead teams | Advocate for the power of the outdoors | Founder | Podcaster |
Last night I got absolutely thumped in a tennis match. 6-1 6-0 and home in time for tea. So much learned; such a privilege to be on court with such talent; Lots of laughs and exercise as we got beaten by youngsters, who were feeling gleeful making the old farts suffer. Is that a fail? Or is that a win, to have been promoted to division one, and find we're now officially, factually out of our league? I explore success and failure with coaching clients a great deal. It sits very closely with perfectionism. What's your relationship with failure? Or risk of failure? Perhaps finding your point of limit is a success? For me, it's been just joy and learning, to hang out in division one, even though we might get demoted at the end of the season. Perfectionism is the enemy of adventure.

The biggest lesson from the Olympics for business owners? It's not at all that deep, but most if not all tend to forget this: 𝙎𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩 𝙞𝙨𝙣'𝙩 𝙖 𝙡𝙪𝙭𝙪𝙧𝙮, 𝙞𝙩'𝙨 𝙖 𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙨𝙪𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨. ✅ Think about Carlos Yulo. The Philippines isn't exactly known for gymnastics, yet made history in the Paris Olympics 2024. Why? Because he had the right people behind him. From a girlfriend who always cheered for him, a sport occupational therapist who made sure he’s in shape, to coaches who helped him reach his full potential - he had the support he truly needed. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀. You might have a great idea, a brilliant vision, but 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚, 𝙞𝙩'𝙨 𝙙𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙡𝙮 𝙨𝙪𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙚𝙙. You need a strong team, the right expertise, the right help to free up your time and focus on what matters most. Just like Carlos Yulo, you can achieve incredible things with the right people by your side. It's time to stop trying to do everything yourself and invest in the people who can help you reach your goals. 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗶s one with Filipinos 🇵🇭 in celebrating the historic feat of Carlos Yulo and his incredible double gold medal win! And we’re here to help business owners and entrepreneurs soar to greater heights and become the champions they were always meant to be. 🏅

Yusuf Dikeç, the Turkish shooter who won a silver medal in the Olympics has become an internet sensation with memes all around. Beyond the memes, I wondered what I could learn from him. Here are 3 life lessons you can learn from him (3rd point is the most important): 1) Don’t excessively rely on coaching – It is being said that Yusuf didn't take any extensive, day and night training for this. If you want to crack any exam, whether it’s CA, CFA, JEE or NEET, don’t mindlessly watch coaching classes all day. It’s not gonna help you. If you do plan to take classes, select the ones that are short but cover all the necessary topics. Self study after every class and practice questions. 2) Age is just a number – If you think that you should quit CA (or any other course) just because you’re above 25, you’re wrong. Yusuf, being 51, secured a medal in the Olympics while most of his opponents were in their early 20s. If you are determined, your age cannot stop you from being successful. 3) Be calm on your exam day! – Perhaps the biggest reason for Yusuf’s success and fame was his attitude on his “exam day”. He didn’t use any eye cover, wore a casual t-shirt, had his hand in his pocket and won a silver medal. If his hand started shaking due to the fear of performing, imagine the result that he would’ve got. Similarly, if you panic on your exam day, you’re not gonna pass. You need to be calm and cool on your most crucial day to be successful. 4) Stay focused, don’t let distractions overpower you – It was claimed that Yusuf had a bitter divorce, yet he remained focused and became successful, by not letting his personal situations overpower him. While this is not verified, it is important that you try your best not to let any distractions or personal situations get in your way and overpower you! #Olympics #Olympics2024 #CA #exam

Does Simone Biles still have a Coach? I mean... Why? What can a coach possibly teach Simone Biles about gymnastics?! 😅 Despite being the best in the world, Simone will still receive intensive coaching day in day out, to continue pushing herself forward. To get *even* better than she is already. To get that 0.01% faster, stronger, slicker. And the same is true of businesses. Those who truly succeed are the ones who keep pushing forward. Who strive for continuous improvement. Who soak up every little bit of knowledge they can get their hands on. And let me tell you a secret - of the business programmes I've been a part of, the businesses who come to me and say 'Nikki, can we get some of this business support that you offer?' are the ones that are £1-5-10-15-20m+ turnover... ...the guy with £300k turnover who thinks he's already super successful and already knows it all - he doesn't want any help. So if you don't already think you know it all, and you're a business who pays their rates to Blackpool Council, talk to me about fully funded scale-up business coaching 😁 #UKSPF

You are the reflection of the 5 people you spend most of your time with. I get you around better people.
Most people are not as successful in business as they tell you. We talk a big game to make people think we are swimming in clients, but when you actually dig deeper, most are broke and have very few testimonials to prove their worth. Dont let them get you down. Keep building yourself up. #success #business #truth #secret #theprofessionalunicorn
