This past week, the two big projects I've been working on (with one being a nine month endeavor) have both concluded. This means that, for the first time in a while, I have nothing (paying) on my plate. I'm available! Please reach out if you'd like to have me create scenarios, engage in foresight writing, give talks to your group, or otherwise be an advocate for tomorrow for your organization. I'm open to everything from one-off events to longer-term contracts. This is an especially weird point in history, and the more we step back and really examine where we are and where we're going, the better. As a reminder, here's a link to my "what I do" document: https://lnkd.in/gVqxi3YD

Having recently reached the half year mark in the life of my first ever solo gig, I've realized that the tenets I've been anchored to for the last several years continue to be my barometer for success. Specifically, these 2: 1. Bring value to the customer/client, and make sure they see the value you bring. A good friend once told me, 'You'll do well to focus on and solve your bosses' problems'. Couldn't be more accurate. 2. Have fun doing it! Life can be difficult at times as we all know. Make sure at least one of the things you spend the most time doing brings you joy and satisfaction.... https://lnkd.in/gFBFkjF5

"Essentially, these are cronies paid between $1200 and $1600 per day to write the law. They do so with no scrutiny: the list of projects in the bill’s schedule was not made available to members of the public who provided feedback to the select committee deliberating on the legislation." A powerful piece of writing from Stuff's Andrea Vance about fast-track bills, the power they put in unelected people, and the importance of shining the spotlight on conflicts of interest. HCA wants to strengthen New Zealand’s lobbying laws to ensure public policy making is transparent. See our recommendations on conflicts of interest: https://lnkd.in/gegtKT7A
