Monday Morning Reflections: 120 Days with Mesa Moving and Storage It’s been 120 days with Mesa Moving and Storage, and what a journey it’s been so far! Having previously worked for a non-agent moving company, I can say the difference here at Mesa is truly night and day. My joining this incredible team here in Denver has been nothing short of eye-opening, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the amazing people I get to work with every day. Whether it’s our hardworking movers, operations team, or the behind-the-scenes admin staff, every single person plays a part in making our customers’ experiences nothing less than exceptional. At Mesa, we’re not just moving boxes—we’re helping families settle into new homes, businesses start new chapters, and sometimes even making big international moves feel like a breeze. And that’s reflected in our 4.9-star rating on Google with over 1,100 reviews (no big deal). That kind of feedback doesn’t happen by accident. It’s the result of the heart and hustle our team puts into every single move. What really excites me is how versatile we are. Whether it’s a local move across Denver, a major corporate relocation, or an international journey, we’re equipped to handle it all with the support of United Vanlines behind us. The level of care we bring to each move is something I’m incredibly proud of, and our customers feel that too. The past 4 months have been filled with growth, lessons, and a whole lot of hard work—I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I’m excited for what’s ahead and for the opportunity to keep serving the Denver community with this incredible team. #MondayMotivation #MesaMoving #UnitedVanlines #ResidentialMoving #CommercialMoving #InternationalMoves #DenverMarket #HHG #MovingandStorage

Hello, District 18 (Alameda, Emeryville, and Oakland). It's time for a change. Many of us are feeling the effects of burnout at work and school. Our lives are consumed by work and we struggle to find time to connect with our loved ones. It's time to prioritize our well-being. It's clear that reducing the work week to 32 hours while maintaining the same salary can have a positive impact. Many companies have already made this change and have seen great results – happier employees, improved productivity, and better mental health ( These are the surprising benefits of a four-day working week | World Economic Forum (weforum.org) ) . We have an opportunity to make this change in California. once elected, I will introduce an assembly bill to adjust the work week from 40 hours to 32 hours. This change will not only benefit workers but also boost our economy and revitalize our small businesses. On November 5, 2024, vote for Andre Sandford for State Assembly District 18. Together, we can make a difference.

What does the future of work look like? Employees tell me again and again they want to be evaluated on *outcomes*. And trusted to work in a way that that gets them there. They know their best work doesn’t look like… … being forced to go into an office … or working late nights … or showing up at last minute meetings after hours. And while companies are refusing to re-think how they evaluate work. Those employees are *redefining* work for themselves. This is why we see SO many caregivers leaving big corporate roles to start their own consultancies. Where they define good work. And then go back and charge the same companies they used to work for a lot more to do it 🙂 (It looks a lot like mompark™. Thanks for creating a home for it Diana Carter!) –– Sundays is an executive assistant service for working parents. We help parents have meaningful careers *and* families.

I haven't approved a single request for annual leave since becoming the CEO of Scotty's. Why? Because we trust our team to manage their own time. They know what work they have on. They know the deadlines. They know what leave other people on the team already have booked in. So we leave it to them to book their time-off into the calendar. It's all shared for transparency, but we're putting the onus on them to make the right decision about when to take leave. If you're finding the right people, you should be able to trust them to manage their own time without it needing to be 'approved' by someone else. When you introduce little things like this, not only does it help others feel more trusted, it also saves a bunch of time on wasted admin! What's the one piece of pointless admin you'd most like to eliminate from your work life?

"Too many of us are either saddled with workweeks that never end or are working too few hours to make ends meet. Without enough say into our work hours, we juggle the demand for constant availability and work schedules that change unpredictably. Whether just scraping by hour-by-hour or hardly getting a good night's sleep, America's scheduling crisis has reached a breaking point. We are becoming a 24/7 workforce. We want jobs that build towards a prosperous future – but our employers have been taking us in the wrong direction. Rather than treating employees as a resource for success, too many businesses view their staff as a cost to be contained or as an asset to be squeezed for limitless productivity, with no regard for our home lives or our personal aspirations. Instead of using modern technology to deliver schedules that allow us to care for our families and meet business needs, corporations are playing games with working families' time, and forcing moms and students to scramble with increasingly uncertain work schedules, particularly in the growing service sector. Today's workforce has the potential to drive the long-term growth of our economy, but today's scheduling practices are getting in the way. We all need a workweek we can count on – one that allows all of us to care for our families, stay healthy, and get ahead. That's why working people across the country are coming together to restore a fair workweek in our workplaces and communities. The Fair Workweek Initiative, anchored by the Center for Popular Democracy, CPD Action and United for Respect, is driving the growing momentum to restore a workweek that enables working families to thrive. We are committed to elevating the voices of working people to ensure they can shape the solutions that work for their families – whether through improved industry practices or new workplace protections." @fairworkweek https://lnkd.in/eyHgSiP
