We recently finished open enrollment for one of the world's largest EV manufacturers. It was amazing to see their entire manufacturing process and have our team meet with hundreds of their employees face to face for 1 on 1 meetings to make sure they really understood the significant value of the benefits their employer is offering them and how they can best select the plan for their family and how to utilize it for best management of their finances and health! Benefits plans are one of the most important decisions any family makes in the year and for some reason they often have to make the decision in 5 minutes with nothing but an online video communication. Especially in a blue collar workforce that isn't on computers all day..this isn't effective. That's why we met with about 300 of the factory employees 1 on 1 in person for an average 30 minutes per meeting- all in one week. In addition to our team of account managers and benefits counselors we also had the carrier and local medical provider group representatives on site. When I was an employed as an attorney at a law firm in Dallas in the mid-to-late 1990s and early 2000s, employee benefits beyond health care and a 401(k) plan were rare. Times have changed. Today, employee benefits brokers and consultants—and HR/CHRO personnel—know that retention and recruitment are top of mind for employers. When asked to share the top five areas their HR teams are focused on this year, respondents most often mention attracting skilled talent and retaining high performers. One in four respondents (23%) place retaining high performers in the number one spot, making it the most common top priority by far.  A thoughtful benefits package can help differentiate an employer’s offerings from the competition, especially when they offer support for mental health and well-being in a way that makes access to help fast, convenient, and private. Housing benefits can lure employees back to the office and attract new talent That caught my attention! Has anyone heard of this or actually been offered this as an employee benefit? "In a survey of 1,020 employers and workers about office perks, performed by the bonding and insurance company JW Surety Bonds and published in January, 47% of respondents said they would be willing to return to the office in exchange for housing benefits. Additionally, 69% said they would be willing to change their job or career for employer-based housing benefits." Link to the article will be in the comments.
