Hospital Aquired Infections happened prior to 2020. What has changed is the global rate of Hospital Aquired Infections. Since hospitals dropped mask mandates patients have been advocating to #keepmasksinhealthcare Many hospitals are refusing this simple accommodation. Many patients of all ages are terrified to go to a Hospital to seek medical care or go to any medical facility because we are hearing the massive global stories of patients being infected while seeking medical care. Far UVC light should be in every public indoor place especially essential services as Hospitals & Healthcare facilities. Far UVC kills all bacteria & all virus including Covid. Why are so many places ignoring the elephant in the room including Hospitals? Implementing Far UVC is so simple easy & an effective solution to keep patients & staff safe. The Healthcare workers who survive Long Covid many are in support groups & can no longer work anymore. We have Doctors, Nurses, PAs, CNA, Executives & administrators & many former professionals & people of all ages & all walks of life in Long Covid support groups. High risk patients including Long Covid patients like myself are unable to safely access treatments because of lack of mitigations. #faruvc plus #keepmasksinhealthcare

A Hospital Indemnity (HI) plan is often top o’ mind for Hospital and ICU Admissions and Confinements for maternity, severe Accidents, acute COVID-19 complications and high frequency critical illness events (i.e., cancer, stroke, heart attack, and major organ failure). When designing a Hospital Indemnity plan, specifically (1) the number of admissions covered per year as well as (2) the number of days of room and board, perhaps beneficial to also consider recent Statewide, Multistate and International outbreaks, including these events that can require an unexpected hospital admission and extended days of confinement: 🔸Salmonella 🔸Listeria monocytogenes 🔸E. coli 🔸Norovirus 🔸Fungal meningitis 🔸Brucella 🔸Measles 🔸Diptheria 🔸Nipah 🔸Dengue 🔸Mpox 🔸Waterborne diseases 🔸Vibriosis 🔸Legionnaires' Disease 🔸Aspergillus 🔸Hantavirus 🔸Leishmaniasis 🔸Chikungunya 🔸 Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever 🔸Lead poisoning 🔸Long COVID (Post-COVID Conditions, long-haul COVID, post-acute COVID-19, long-term effects of COVID, and chronic COVID) Additional considerations beyond evaluating if there's a Maternity Waiting Period, if there's a Pre-existing Condition Limitation, and the dollar values for the Admission/Confinement benefits: 🔹Does the HI plan extend coverage for accidents and illnesses that occur and that are treated outside of the United States and its Territories? 🔹If two+ Admissions per year are included, what is the window of time between Admission # 1 discharge and Admission # 2 admittance? 🔹Does the HI plan pay a benefit if the insured is transferred into ICU or only if they are admitted directly? 🔹How does the HI plan cover Mental & Nervous as well as Alcohol & Drug (Substance) and Gender-reaffirming surgery? 🔹Does the HI plan pay a benefit if the insured is in an Observation Room for an extended period of time? 🔹If the plan is 24hr, will it pay a benefit to the insured if there's a Workers' Compensation claim? HI plans pay cash benefits that can be utilized for medical and non-medical expenses and they can provide significant financial protection if enrolled in a High Deductible Health Care plan and there's a Hospital/ICU Admission or Confinement due to an illness or accident. #voluntarybenefits #enhancedbenefits #suppplementalbenefits

"Warmer weather is leading to more patients coming to a hospital emergency department, with circulatory, respiratory and infectious diseases the most common conditions seeing increases in admissions. A new report found that, between 2015 and 2019, Irish emergency hospital admissions for temperature-affected diseases were 8.5 per cent higher on hot days (22–25°C) compared to moderate temperature days (10–13°C). However, when temperatures rose above 25°C, results suggest that patients, especially older people, begin to adapt their behaviour, suggesting that advance notice of very warm days can help people adjust safely to the weather." 💡 Read more key findings from the report: https://lnkd.in/dB9xkeNA 📰 Read Irish Medical Times coverage:

"Walking Pneumonia" A new mysterious Pneumonia is taking a toll on China..So far, little is known about this condition but it is recommended that we resume and adhere to Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) strategies we implemented during COVID 19. An important "ASK" would be "Is our Zambian health system ready to withstand another infectious virus amidst Anthrax and Cholera?" In this global village, it is highly recommended that proactive approaches of surveillance such as Sentinel Community-based Surveillance (SCS) be normalised. The media should be engaged immediately to provide health education broadcasts and All entry points should be manned with surveillance teams. Another proactive step, though slightly inconveniencing, would be to provide health education at all entry/exit points for all; collecting as much details about travellers to aid contact tracing activities. I think we need to strike a ballance between privacy and combating infectious diseases of pandemic potential.
