Last week, staff and council attended an open house to see the new Papé Material Handling building located at 1975 Arnold Industrial Way. Papé Material Handling offers top-of-the-line equipment such as fork lifts and aerial platforms, as well as in-house service for equipment. Papé was previously located at 210 Mason Circle in a 17,000 square foot building, and needed more space to service their customers. The new building is over 30,000 square feet featuring a sales lobby, warehouse, parts department and service bays to work on equipment. The higher ceilings and multiple entry points to the service bays allow for larger equipment, up to five tons, to be safely serviced indoors. The company also invested in touchscreen technology to provide an interactive learning environment for the team in the training rooms. Papé Materials Handling has been in business for 85 years and currently operate 150 locations across nine states with over 4,500 employees. The Concord location currently has 26 team members and will be adding more soon. Can You Permit Used Racking? Understanding the Process and Requirements When considering used racking systems for your warehouse, one common question arises: Can you permit used racking? The answer is yes, but it involves understanding the specific requirements and ensuring compliance with local regulations. Key Factors to Consider: Compliance with Safety Standards: Used racking must meet current safety standards and regulations. This includes structural integrity, load capacity, and proper installation practices. Inspection and Certification: Have the used racking inspected by a qualified professional to certify that it is safe for use. This step is crucial for obtaining permits and ensuring the safety of your warehouse operations. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of the racking’s specifications, inspection reports, and any modifications made. This documentation will be required during the permitting process. Local Building Codes: Familiarize yourself with local building codes and regulations regarding warehouse racking. Each jurisdiction may have specific requirements that must be met. Professional Installation: Ensure that the used racking is installed by certified professionals. Proper installation is critical for compliance and safety. The Permitting Process: Assessment: Start with a thorough assessment of the used racking to ensure it meets all safety and compliance standards. Documentation Preparation: Gather all necessary documentation, including inspection reports, structural calculations, and any previous permits if applicable. Submit Application: Submit the permit application along with the required documentation to the relevant local authorities. Inspection: Be prepared for an on-site inspection by local authorities to verify compliance with safety standards and building codes. Approval: Once the inspection is complete and all requirements are met, you will receive the permit to use the racking system. For our service team the working days in the office are as important as the days when our colleagues are on the road heading to our customers to provide service support.💡 For the planning of a maintenance intervention for a DIENES slitting system, the first and most crucial part is to study the technical characteristics of the system and to define a working plan in accordance to the customer’s needs. Afterwards the service intervention can begin.✔️ In our service department it is of major importance to organize and coordinate the daily work within the team, in order to provide 1st class services for our global customer base.🌍 In these pictures, our colleague Lia Liebing is checking a drawing about a DIENES slitting system, which is going to be maintained during an annual machine shutdown.🧐 Can you guess what other tasks our service team has on a regular basis? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section!⬇️ #dienes #service #team #office #slitting #converting #international
