what are great experience. Here is a short video of the conference! #gacp #savannahgeorgia #savannahconventioncenter
I attended the GACP Training Conference this year, in Savannah, GA. The event was held at the convention center, which is currently being expanded. I met many great people, and made a lot of connections. This was a great event for everyone that attended. I hope to attend next year!

We are very grateful to Robert Thomas; Intermediary for providing us with his skill and expertise in our upcoming training seminar. For those of you wondering what an intermediary is... Intermediaries are communication specialists who work on behalf of HMCTS to support people participating in a court or tribunal hearing. They provide impartial recommendations to HMCTS about a person’s specific communication needs and outline the steps needed to achieve them. This could include: -the types of questions that are likely to get the best response -the types of questions that should not be asked -how long the person will need to answer a question -when the person may need a break Intermediaries can then support the person at a court or tribunal hearing, or at conferences to prepare for a hearing. They can: help to rephrase any questions the person does not understand make sure the person can understand and follow what is happening An intermediary can support someone who: is a child attending court has a physical, neurological, or mental health condition that affects their ability to participate fully during a hearing HMCTS provides intermediary support for: defendants in criminal cases all parties in family, civil and tribunal cases

After a week of three conferences in three consecutive days across the country I've had plenty of time to reflect during hours worth of train journeys! My key take-aways and recurring themes are fairly simple: 1. FINANCE is the biggest, most concerning issue in education currently. We all know this but nearly every conversation I've had this week has led back to a chronically under funded sector that is struggling to keep its head above water. And how so many leaders such as Inspire Partnership Multi-Academy Trust's Tracy Jackson are doing a remarkable job in very challenging circumstances. 2. A lack of robust and consistent ACCOUNTABILITY in academy trusts is causing concern among leaders. And if Labour do 'bring MATs into Ofsted' what will the framework look like and where is the expertise to deliver the inspections (not educators!)? 3. Wifi on England's trains is TERRIBLE. Tiffany Beck OBE we are in total agreement on this one! The billions being spent on HS2 should be reinvested in helping people that spend time on trains be more productive rather than shaving irrelevant minutes off journeys. Rant over, time for a weekend of Glastonbury and football!
