🚨 Take action to protect victims of domestic abuse and children! Sign and share this important petition calling for the creation of a new statutory organization for Post Separation Abuse Prevention officers. The goal is to investigate family law cases to identify coercive control before the first hearing, ensuring evidence is correctly gathered. If coercive control is found, this agency will notify the police for criminal action under the Serious Crimes Act (2015). They will also have powers to apply for a Secrion 91(14) Order under the Children Act (1989). Support and referrals will be offered and provided to the safe parent and children, aiding in their healing process from abuse. This initiative aims to hold perpetrators accountable and deter them from using the court system to perpetuate abuse. Together, let's create a safer future for survivors. please sign the petition now so no survivors will ever have to set foot in a family court or be made to negotiate with perpetrators: https://chng.it/YcjhC7NjYw 🙏 #DomesticAbuse #ProtectSurvivors #ChildrenSafety

⏰TIME TO REGISTER -> Nov 14 Webinar “Why do my DV clients always want to dismiss their protection orders?” “If this abuser keeps saying they need their stuff from the victim’s apartment, why do they have so many excuses for not picking it up at the agreed times?” “Why would anyone stay with an abusive partner?” If you work with victims of Intimate Partner Violence, you have probably heard questions like those and maybe even asked them yourself. IPV is a pattern of behaviors, not a singular event, and a failure to understand the intricacies of that pattern can lead to inappropriate responses by law enforcement, the courts, victim advocates, and other supportive outsiders. This “intensive introduction” is ideal for novice and veteran justice system personnel alike. Join us on Nov 14 when David Ramón Zayas returns to discuss: ✔️Better recognize and name abusive tactics for what they are and how they work. ✔️Approach current victims of domestic violence with a deeper understanding and provide more effective support. ✔️Access additional resources for more in-depth information on DV. Understand how to better support friends and family experiencing DV. 👉Click Here to Register Soon: https://lnkd.in/gz2qEt8f #domesticviolence #DV #trauma #victimadvocate #victimservices

Did you know that 95% of domestic abuse cases ❗ do not ❗ end in a conviction? The criminal justice system is failing survivors of abuse, over and over again. But we have a solution – and evidence to show that it really works. Over 10 years ago, in collaboration with our sister organisation Standing Together Against Domestic Abuse, we developed the Whole Justice Approach to improve support for survivors and, ultimately, increase prosecution and conviction rates. Since we started implementing this approach through the Impact Project with Hammersmith & Fulham Council, we’ve seen: ✔️ 51% increase in arrests leading to charges ✔️ 100% increase in the use of restraining orders ✔️ 34% increase in convictions in domestic abuse cases We’re now campaigning for every survivor of domestic abuse to have access to this kind of support. Help us spread the word by sharing this post and reading our report #HerStoryHerJustice ✊ https://lnkd.in/eA-3jMdW

We 100% agree! “When a family violence perpetrator inflicts abuse on other members of their family, we have an obligation as a society to protect their victims from further abuse and help them heal from past trauma.” Everyone has a role to play in ending family violence. We need to improve our systems, structures and responses to support those experiencing family violence. We need to be more aware of and have a greater understanding of coercive control within family violence. Understanding coercive control is at the heart of ECLIPSE workshops.
