Church Security Under Threat: Tackling Burglary and Community Safety Allen Raymond Wolverton, 40, pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, including second-degree burglary, after allegedly breaking into Liberty Bible Church in Ellensburg. Surveillance footage and vehicle identification linked him to the crime. Despite a brief chase, Wolverton was eventually located at his Tacoma home. Key Takeaways: - Enhanced Church Security: Emphasize the importance of implementing advanced security systems, such as surveillance cameras and alarm systems, to deter and detect break-ins at religious institutions. - Effective Law Enforcement Tactics: Highlight the need for robust law enforcement strategies, including inter-agency collaboration and improved pursuit protocols, to apprehend suspects who attempt to evade capture. - Community Vigilance and Reporting: Advocate for community involvement in crime prevention by encouraging the public to report suspicious activities and support local law enforcement efforts. #churchsecurity #churchsafety https://lnkd.in/gQiZrXBb

Church Security Team Member Sentenced for Fatal Church Parking Lot Shooting George Ryan Walters, a former reserve deputy with the Jones County Sheriff's Department, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for the second-degree murder of James Corey Donald in April 2023. Walters, 44, of Laurel, Mississippi, will serve 10 years in prison followed by 10 years on probation. The incident occurred during an altercation at The Rock Pentecostal Church in Laurel, where Walters was working as a security team member. The sentencing follows Walters' plea deal to a lesser charge after initially being charged with first-degree murder and aggravated assault. I’m looking for more information on this case. I understand there is surveillance video of the incident. If you have more information (like how the argument started, what it was over, if the other man attended the church, etc) I’d love to hear about it. I think this would be a good case study for other safety ministry members. With that said, MS does have a law that allows for immunity for church safety team members working for the church. However, no law will protect you if you act with gross negligence. People have a poor understanding of qualified immunity. It doesn’t protect you if you are willfully negligent. It protects you when you are performing an act within the accordance of law. In most churches, it is easier to get on the safety team where people carry guns then it is on the worship team. If you can't sing and can't play an instrument, you won't get on the worship team. However, many churches will let somebody come on the safety team simply because they were prior military, prior law-enforcement, or have a CCW. You must be pickier in personnel selection than the worship team.

Obviously as is absolutely the case with regards to every discipline and profession, there are, of course "bad/ corrupted criminals-in-disguise", effectively. That must be rooted out. However, if you are going to let an exceptionally tiny minority of such sorry excuses-for people justify your not actively supporting the #thinblueline, then you are absolutely one of the also exceptionally tiny but - generally - obnoxiously-loud minority, who are a giant part of the problem. That is, the problem of the very deliberate dividing of this nation, the epidemic of crime in far too many formerly safe cities and towns and generally, the continuing breakdown of law and order, the Rule of Law and the emerging reign of an increasingly-obvious also very deliberate, Two-Tiered so-called "Justice" system. +++ But that's just what I think might be happening and might be some of the causes. What do you all think? #surveysays
A sea of blue enveloped Merrick Road outside of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church this morning. Police Officers joined us from across the globe to honor our hero, Detective First Grade Jonathan Diller- standing shoulder to shoulder with us, and comforting his extraordinary family. The patches on the officers’ shoulders may be different, but we are forever bound by our solemn oaths to serve and protect our communities. The same principles Jonathan Diller lived by: To make our world a better, safer place for all. #FidelisAdMortem

Key Takeaways: - Proactive Security Measures: Churches should consider installing security cameras and alarm systems to deter vandalism and protect their property. - Staff Training for Confrontations: Church employees should be trained in how to handle confrontations with suspicious individuals safely and effectively. - Community and Law Enforcement Partnership: Close collaboration between religious institutions and law enforcement is vital for preventing and responding to incidents of vandalism and other crimes. #churchsecurity #churchsafety https://lnkd.in/gY9BPYM8
