As a Civil Engineering graduate taking on the role as a site supervisor can have it's challenges, So here are some of it you should take note of; Limited Technical Growth: Site supervision often focuses more on management tasks rather than technical engineering work, which may limit opportunities for skill development in your core field. High Responsibility: Being responsible for the day-to-day operations on a construction site can be stressful and demanding, especially when dealing with tight deadlines and unexpected issues. Field Work: Site supervisors typically spend a lot of time outdoors, exposed to various weather conditions and physical demands, which may not be appealing to everyone. Communication Challenges: Effective communication with workers, subcontractors, and higher management is crucial, and miscommunication can lead to delays, errors, or conflicts. Decision Making under Pressure: Site supervisors often need to make quick decisions on site, sometimes without all the necessary information, which can be daunting and risky. Despite these challenges, many find fulfillment in the dynamic nature of site supervision and the opportunity to see tangible results of their work.
