Communities across the Southeast have been devastated by Hurricane Helene’s impact. If you would like to help survivors on their path to recovery and rebuilding, it’s important to remember to do so responsibly. Leave the on-the-ground assistance and recovery planning to the trained professionals. Instead of going by yourself to an affected area, or collecting donations to deliver to families in need, we urge you to donate financially 💸 to recognized relief organizations or join an established group that can offer guidance on how to best support impacted communities. Your desire to help is commendable—let's work together to ensure our support makes the greatest impact to those in need. The best way to help is to offer your time, money, or voice to established, charitable organizations that have the experience to direct your given resources to reach survivors. Whether you like Trump or not doesn't matter in this moment for our neighbors in the states that have been devastated by Hurricane Helene. Please, for the sake of these folks, give to Trump's GoFundMe campaign to raise money for them. Trump has already given $25 million of his own money toward the effort. Trump's Finance Director started the GoFundMe page so others of us who can't be on the ground handing out food and water can still help. I've donated and would ask that you please consider donating as well. All $$ from this campaign will go straight to the victims of Helene. They're in real trouble and they won't be getting any real help from our government because: -- FEMA says it's out of $$ for Helene victims, but they had $640 million to spend on illegal immigrants. -- Although there are military bases w/in reasonable distances with equipment that could airlift supplies, Biden won't allow it. Why? I've no idea. -- Harris has offered a lousy one-time payment of $750 to people who've lost everything. But she expects them (many of whom are still without communication systems) to somehow "apply" for their pittance online. How are they even supposed to do that? Many have gone nearly a week without even basic necessities -- things are getting really dire for them.
