Below, Lean In shares some great tips for preparing for year-end review negotiations -- the only thing we'd adjust is regarding using "we" and "the team" -- it is also critical to make it clear what YOU did specifically. Using "I" statements creates clarity on your impact and accomplishments. E.g., "The team surpassed our sales goal by X amount! In particular, I was able to get our sales process functioning more optimally and that helped all members of the team be more efficient. I'm glad I was able to help by leading that effort!" We talk about the importance of institutions providing equitable access to leadership development programs for women of color, but how effective are they in supporting leadership aspirations?
