This position will manage, direct, plan, and organize the administrative, engineering, and development activities of the Public Works Department. This includes Development Services, Transportation, and the Surface Water Divisions. I love hiring a working "Mother" Giving some insights to recruiters who might not be lenient towards hiring a working mother because of her busy schedule and responsibilities. Here are more reasons why you should hire a working mother: 1. They are great at Multitasking .. Moms are always juggling multiple schedules, getting things done in any spare pocket of time they have and changing plans on a dime. The skills parenting requires are very well-suited to work. 2. Empathy; Moms are always prepared for a crisis. They’re naturally empathetic. They understand how to anticipate the needs of others, and are committed to their fulfillment. They know how to take responsibility, not only for themselves, but for their families and communities 3. Patience .. as a mother you learn how to be patient even if you never were! 4. Efficiency; they don't have time to waste because every minute they are wasting to them it's more importantly to be spent with their kids. 5. They're great in Time Management; Motherhood forces you to ruthlessly prioritize every moment. This is a skill mothers build during the newborn days, and it transfers to all other aspects of life, particularly their careers 6. Leadership Skills; they are better communicators, better listeners, better conflict resolvers, and better under pressure in general. Let this thought sink in the next time you interview a mother!
