Media Statement by Chris Minns, Premier of New South Wales and Daniel Mookhey, Treasurer of New South Wales, Acting Minister for Industrial Relations and Acting Minister for Work Health and Safety. Extract below:- The revelations that have come to light this morning are appalling. There is absolutely no tolerance for criminal or corrupt behaviour in the building industry, in unions or anywhere for that matter. It is clear the CFMEU Construction & General Division will not and cannot clean itself up. Given the serious nature of the allegations, we have written to the NSW Labor Party General Secretary and asked they take the necessary steps to immediately suspend the CFMEU Construction and General Division’s affiliation from the NSW Labor Party and stop any donations or affiliation fees. The NSW Government is working with the Commonwealth Government on a coordinated approach. We will also ask the Commonwealth Government to review Enterprise Bargaining Agreements in NSW, which the CFMEU is party to. Further, the NSW Construction Compliance Unit will work with federal regulatory bodies and act on any allegations. We must take the necessary action to protect honest and hardworking construction workers and union members. It is necessary to protect the integrity of the construction sector and unions in NSW. The NSW Government will provide an update on other actions we intend to take later today. Source:- (https://lnkd.in/gt3QJkkJ)

Finally a output to a shot!!.. 😍 The reopening of the Trihana Tea Garden in Bagdogra signifies a positive resolution to the prolonged closure and labor disputes. By agreeing to clear the dues of laborers in two installments, the garden owners show a willingness to address the grievances of the workers. The involvement of the Joint Labour Commissioner and the tripartite meeting indicates a collaborative effort to find a solution that benefits both laborers and management. This decision not only ensures the livelihoods of the workers but also promotes stability and peace within the tea garden community. The phased payment plan for bonuses and wages reflects a pragmatic approach to financial constraints while still honoring the workers' rights. With the garden set to reopen, it is crucial to prioritize fair labor practices and maintain a harmonious working environment. The support pledged by labor unions and authorities underscores the importance of collective action in safeguarding the interests of workers. As operations resume, it is imperative to uphold transparency, accountability, and respect for labor rights to ensure the long-term sustainability of the tea garden industry in the region. #TrihanaTeaGarden #LaborDisputesResolved #PhasedPaymentPlan #TeaIndustryRevival #WorkerRights #CommunityStability
