A common problem for many data leaders hiring data engineers or data scientists is receiving profiles that do not meet their business requirements. As the industry continues to evolve, specific roles are becoming more domain-focused, demanding specialised skills and experience. Organisations need talent that can handle the complexities their business faces. For example, a data scientist in a healthcare company might need expertise in medical data sets. In contrast, a data engineer in a finance organisation might require knowledge of financial data processing. If you are applying for these roles, it’s crucial to tailor your CV to highlight relevant experience and skills that align with the specific needs of the industry and organisation. A targeted approach can make your profile more appealing to data leaders who are seeking the right fit for their teams.

Data Analyst • Python • SQL • Power BI • MS Excel • I Drive Business Growth Through Analytical Insights📈
Every data analyst job description should have the requirement of holding a PhD in Psychology. Okay, I'm joking. We don't need that. However, there is a need to understand what the audience and stakeholders need so we can effectively communicate our data findings. #dataanalyst #datacommunication

Back in the days when we were much younger and asked what we would like to become in future? We tend to answer based on the few recognised occupations and little did we know that a time would come that there would be an occupation known as Data Analyst 😂 A data analyst is a person whose job is to gather and interpret data in order to solve a specific problem. They work in many industries, including business, finance, criminal justice, science, medicine, and government. If you love to solve problems and give meaning to data and unsure of what to do next, you can give this a thought. This field welcomes you as you are regardless of your background. If you've already ventured into data, I hope the people in your environment are already aware that you're a Data Analyst and it's for real. Let's keep doing data and keep getting better. Data is life 😄 #data #dataanalyst #occupation #ambition

I review 100s of CVs for data science roles each week. Here are the top 3 things candidates NEED to include (but often forget): 3 - Data 🧑🏽💻 It's in the job title…literally, right there! It's no good telling the person hiring about the skills you have if you can't back it up with cold, hard data. 2 - A clear summary of your most recent role 💎 Don't assume just because you have a software or skills listed in a previous role, they'll assume you're still using it now. Many recruiters want data scientists with recent experience in XYZ. Make sure they know you have it. 1 - Role specific info 💡 Whoever happens to be looking at your CV is looking to see how well you meet the criteria of the job description. Make sure you hit every point you can relevant to that specific job. Generic CVs don't cut it anymore! You might look at that and think it's pretty standard stuff, but you'd be amazed at how many CVs I come across that miss these opportunities. Looking for your next data science role?
