Los Angeles venues, hotels, restaurants, mass transit, and airports will have the chance of a lifetime to impress guests from all over the globe as they come for the 2028 Summer Olympics. The majority of my career I’ve called LA home, so you can imagine my pride in seeing this great city get a chance to shine again. Recently, news surrounding LA hasn’t been so positive. Big builds like the Intuit Dome, infrastructure improvements for transit, and hundreds of new restaurants and hotels have been overshadowed by talk of downtown’s homeless population rising. But, LA is so much more than this one fault. It’s a cultural melting pot of diverse communities bonding over shared experiences. These next four years provide a unique opportunity for local businesses, the city, and the people to come together and make a real impact on our guests to create truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. So how do we even start? The key is combining preparation, collaboration, and unity. And don’t forget a warm Angeleno welcome. The goal should be that when guests leave our great city at the end of summer 2028, they leave in awe - not just of the Games, but also of the Los Angeles experience.
