We're growing our internal team at District Partners! We're looking for experienced and high-performing staffing/executive search professionals in the Finance & Accounting space that are looking for a change from the large agency grind. What sets us apart from from a typical agency? 1) A fully remote/work-from-anywhere culture: our team is based all over the country and we put a high value on flexibility. We don't care where you're working from as long as you're helping to grow the firm! 2) We're not volume/KPI-centric: we don't evaluate performance based on how many phone calls you make, how many resumes you submit, how many meetings you schedule, etc. We evaluate results and customer satisfaction. We focus on quality, not quantity! 3) No territory restrictions/oversaturated markets. Staff Spotlight | Melanie V. 'What is your job title and where are you based?' Group Executive Assistant based at Horsley Park, NSW. 'Biggest Challenges?' I guess the biggest challenge is the stereotype of what an Executive Assistant is and does. Business support roles have significantly evolved beyond the ‘secretary’ stereotype of long ago, but society at large hasn’t kept up and still has outdated and inaccurate perceptions about the industry and the people in it. 'What would you say is the one thing you are most passionate about?' I will always remember and live by two quotes; one being a Maya Angelou quote “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” And the other by Marvin J. Ashton “Be the one who nurtures and builds, be the one who has an understanding and a forgiving heart, one who looks for the best in people. Transitioning from self-doubt to confidence required me to believe in myself. Everything shifted when I chose to invest in my own abilities! In 2020, amid the pandemic, I was working from home at a background screening company, collaborating with applicants worldwide. Essentially, I was stationed at my dining room table, handling calls continuously, assisting users with issues, and answering questions—all while playing the roles of a teacher, cook, and mother to my then 6-year-old son. I was exhausted, hitting a ceiling in my career. Randomly, I received a text from an old friend I worked with at Red Lobster back in 2015. Amidst catching up, she shared an odd story of stumbling upon a new job, initially skeptical but ultimately life-changing. In jest, I replied, "If you need any help, let me know." Unaware, I had no idea what was about to unfold. I submitted an application, attended an interview, accepted a lower pay rate, and landed the job! Boom!! In August 2020, I began my journey at Vesta Realty as an Executive Assistant, transitioning to being a Corporate America Gal. From there, my career trajectory skyrocketed—moving from EA to Office Manager, CIO Executive Assistant, Capital Project Coordinator, and now, Director of Vendor Relations. I've moved from days clouded with self-doubt to now possessing immense confidence in my work. We are #hiring, like a lot of companies. However, before you apply, consider this and determine if we are a match for you. We were struggling with our HRIS and all the manual process for our teams and managers, so we changed to a better one that supported our teams, reduced paper and hours of our managers time. We were struggling with open positions, so we created a department internally to help recruit and hire, removing 90% of the burden from our hiring managers. We were finding many candidates had no previous knowledge of our industry, let alone experience in it, so we created and grew a training department. We wanted to create back up and a larger network of support, so we reorganized one entire department creating senior level staff, regional level staff and junior level staff- pipeline careers pathways for our insight teams and creating backfill so people could take a break without coming back to disappointed customers/clients. All of these things and many more happened around 6-8 years ago, yet we continue to look daily at the problem and determine solid solutions for success. If you are a person, who believes any obstacle or problem has a solution, then you are going to #thrive in our space.
