Ladies and Gentlemen: As Patrick Bet-David says "Bad policies has consequences". That is on full display in NY.
I grew up in CNY about 20 minutes from Ilion & the Remington Arms headquarters location. The town was very low income as it was and this will likely be the death-blow to the local economy.
However, I won't make this post a pontification about NY, my hometown, and the policies that destroyed it. CNY will always be "home", but I can never return to being a resident. As someone with goals, ambitions, and ideology that doesn't match the local populous - you feel unwelcome/isolated. (although this can be enjoyable.)
The oppressive tax structure on 1099/Business owners is downright criminal, the conservative area that is CNY doesn't stand a chance to the macro-political picture in NY, and there's no end in sight. Unfortunately, everyone saw this story coming.
I left NY almost 10 years ago and now reside in Florida - long before the boom and publicity that came with 2020 and beyond.
My point in writing this is the following: NY is an amazing state rich in culture and history and its being destroyed before our eyes. However, this almost feels necessary so that someone can rise to the top to fix it. I have no desire to run for any Political Office, yet it almost feels like a duty at this point.
Until then, I'll enjoy the palm trees throughout the winter!
