City of Seguin’s Post

City of Seguin Apprentice Lineman Nathan Thiry has completed the U.S. Department of Labor's 4-year Apprenticeship Program, along with 8,000 hours of required training, to become a Journeymen Lineman. The City’s Electric Utilities Department has had an approved U.S. Department of Labor Apprenticeship program since 2013. During this time, a number of qualified Journeymen Lineman have completed the rigorous program. This gives young men and women an opportunity to learn a trade without having to attend college. The Apprenticeship combines paid on-the-job training with classroom instruction to help prepare Seguin’s electric workers for highly-skilled careers as Journeymen Lineman. We congratulate Nathan on this achievement!
