As a champion for workforce development, the Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) Benefits of Registered Apprenticeships include employment, increased skills, wage progression, and industry-recognized credentials. Currently, there are 16 individuals enrolled in the Chamber's apprenticeship programs in areas including welding, manufacturing, engineering, automotive technician training, and more. The Chamber is proud to play a role in helping to close the gap in skilled labor for the betterment of our workforce and the Hanover community. Additionally, Governor Josh Shapiro signed a Proclamation that officially names the week of November 17th to the 23rd of 2024 Apprenticeship Week. 🚢 The Good Growth Programme has invested £2m towards a £4m refurbishment of Penzance Dry Dock. This will transform the facility from a ship repair business to one that also builds ships, while training the next generation of skilled marine engineers. The have recently launched the first apprenticeship scheme at the dock in over 25 years, and are expecting to almost double the 17-strong workforce in the short term, with ambitions to employ more than 100 people in the years to come. Central Community College’s Registered Apprenticeship Program is thrilled to announce we’ve teamed up with Lakeview High School to offer Nebraska Department of Labor Nebraska Department of Labor Youth Apprenticeships. Juniors in high school would have opportunities for on the job training in Welding and Mechatronics, while taking a skill and technical focused curriculum at school. The apprentice would be treated as a part time employee with hour restrictions. These provide youth a practical pathway while exposing them to an industry they plan on pursuing as a career. DOL Youth Apprenticeships also allows 16 & 17 year olds to work in a manufacturing setting, giving your company a chance to develop your way. It's National Apprenticeship Week! Did you know Wor-Wic works with local companies to offer apprenticeships in skilled trades? We partner with Associated Builders and Contractors – Chesapeake Shores to offer a plumbing apprenticeship program and IEC Chesapeake for an electrical apprenticeship program. During the day, apprentices work for local companies and earn while they learn via on-the-job training. Two evenings per week, apprentices are in class from September through May. We also have a powerline worker pre-apprenticeship program in partnership with the Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives. ✨ National Apprenticeship Week✨ Did you know Missouri has 37 Registered Youth Apprenticeship programs in direct connection with school districts and career and technical education centers across the state? These programs provide Missouri’s youth and young adults with immediate access to hands-on learning and education in a variety of career pathways. Fort Zumwalt School District serves as a program sponsor and has over 40 active apprentices in a variety of occupations including machinist/machine operator, production technologist, health support specialist, and more.
