Imagine trying to take a photo in a place colder than space and darker than a black hole, where the pressure can crush ships like marshmellows: the deep sea. In our latest article published in Ocean News & Technology, I examine just how difficult it is to capture photos in this alien environment, where over three quarters of the ocean floor remains unseen. Yet, as autonomous underwater drones advance, some are diving into the deepest oceans and coming back in one piece, with footage to prove it. Follow the link or turn to page 10 to read how it’s done: https://lnkd.in/gdqXHR5B

Understanding Drone Movement: Yaw, Pitch, and Roll In this video, we dive into the core mechanics of drone flight, breaking down the three essential movements: yaw, pitch, and roll. These terms are key to mastering drone navigation, whether you're a hobbyist or a professional. Yaw: Rotating the drone left or right, controlling its direction. Pitch: Tilting the drone forward or backward, allowing it to move forward or in reverse. Roll: Tilting side-to-side for smooth lateral movement. Watch this practical demonstration to see how each axis works in harmony to give you full control in the sky! 🌍 #Drones #TechExplained #FlightControl #DronePiloting #Aviation

Check out this incredible shot of the Matrice 350 RTK in action! With its high-precision mapping capabilities, diverse payload options, and intuitive remote control, the M350 RTK is the go-to drone for remote locations that are too hard to reach for boots on the ground. Thanks to its battery hot-swapping capabilities, operators stay in the air longer to get the job done. Do you have any awesome aerial shots of your drone? Share them with us in the comments below! #DJI #DJIEnterprise #Matrice350RTK

3D Modeling | Photogrammetry | Surveying & Mapping | Drone | Computer Vision | remote Sensing | SLAM | GIS
#Get3DReaction : #Realtime modeling using photogrammetry, with normal DJI drone. The system can connect #DJI drone #Mavic3E, collecting images from the drone while flying in the sky. And the system will receive the image transmitted from the drone, creating the 3D model in real-time using the common portable workstation. Learn more : https://lnkd.in/enys7Mk8

In an attempt to make things easier for people who want drone shots but unsure what to ask for, here's another simple yet effective one- Orbit. - Also known as "Point of Interest" the UAV typically strafes a 360 degree circle while maintaining focus on a central point such as a building or in this case the Isle of Fidra in East Lothian. This shot makes great use of the parallax effect whereby the foreground (Island) and background (Baps of Fife) appear to move at different speeds. The vast majority of pilots use automatic settings to lock on to the target, and although technically maintaining a perfect 360 circle, I find that for cinematic effect it is better to fly this manually. Often these shots are cut to 180 degree arcs, or less in the edit in order to maintain the viewers' attention.

Fractional Chief Digital Officer. Data & Intelligence. (CDO, CMO, CINO) - Investor, Board Member, Speaker
This flight hub really demonstrates how the mixed reality and digital twin concepts are all becoming intertwined. As more drones launch into even more industry categories we really need to to educate folks in strategically planning how to use this type of data. This is just one example of drones... when we think about autonomous cars, security systems, wearables, mobile devices and more we need to consider how everything 'plays nice' and supports innovation across the board. #innovation
As we continue to upgrade our fleet to newer (RemoteID compliant) drones, I've been exploring DJI FlightHub2 for flight planning. This is coming along nicely since the last time I tried it. Polygon import and mapping missions are now supported for the M3E, and the new interface for planning waypoint missions, shown in the video below, is fantastic. Importing a design file (CAD->KML->FlightHub2 Annotations) allows me to plan the construction progress photos for photo captures that will work for repeat visits over the entire project. The various windows displayed while planning the waypoints helps a lot with situational awareness and ensuring that we're not overflying active traffic while dropping waypoints.
