My capstone project explores the complex connection between corporate social responsibility (CSR) and employee outcomes, with a particular focus on the mediating role of employee work engagement. As we move away from shareholder-centric views and adopt a stakeholder-centric view of engagement, it's essential to comprehend the effect of CSR on an employee’s job satisfaction and turnover intention. It's important to note that CSR goes beyond mere checkbox compliance; it's about making a meaningful impact on the lives of employees. I hope that my research inspires positive change!

While reading 'The Power of Why' by Amanda Lang, I understood that organizational culture and managers play a significant role in employee engagement. As disengaged people not only bring unproductivity but also become responsible for creating negativity at the workplace. That results in demotivating the hard working and responsible employees and takes the company's success farther away. So, it is important for organizations: ✓ To engage people by aligning their goals with the company's goals. ✓ Make them feel valued by constantly motivating and encouraging them to share their ideas. ✓ Offer them an opportunity to showcase their potential. and most importantly..... ✓ Let your employees know that each of their hard work contributes to the company's success but not merely with 'lame sentences' by rewarding their actions with financial and non- financial incentives.

Want to move your company forward and improve employee engagement? Yes you do! Create a culture where sharing ideas is safe. Ben Affleck said it best “Hey, judge me for how good my good ideas are, not how bad my bad ideas are.”  Know your employees. Know how to communicate this to each one individually. Some you can totally give them a hard time about a bad idea. Others you have hold close. All will help you if they feel safe and heard. Your people are smart and savvy. That's why you hired them in the first place. Go be that leader. And have a great day!
