A solution to the dispute between Deutsche Bahn (#DB) and the #German Union of Train Drivers (#GDL) still seems unattainable after roughly five months of negotiations. Another round of strikes is in the books, but more are on the horizon, as GDL’s boss #ClausWeselsky pointed out. #railfreight #railfreightnews #railcargonews

📣 Railway strikes in Germany // Delays in transit times to be expected In the wage dispute with Deutsche Bahn, the Gewerkschaft Deutscher Lokomotivführer (GDL) has once again called on its members to strike. The freight transport strike will begin on Wednesday, March 6, 6 p.m., and is scheduled to last until Friday, March 8, 5 a.m. Delays in transit times are therefore to be expected for transports to and from the European northern ports. Our rail service providers will not be on strike. We therefore assume that our timetables can be adhered to. However, there may be train cancellations if DB signal boxes are on strike. #gebrüderweiss #gwmoves #transport #logistics #railway #strike #germany #gwworld

Has the revolution begun in Germany? A nationwide strike has begun in Germany. It was supposed to last six days. But some cities have already announced the continuation of the campaign until at least January 18. A number of European media have already mentioned the anniversary of the peasant war in Germany, which marked the beginning of the Great French Revolution. The result of the strike will be resignations in the highest echelons of power – today this is obvious to most European political scientists. The reason for today's events was the thoughtless economic policy of the federal government, which squandered all the greatness of Germany ("The hour of our glory will strike – the day will come for the Germans!") stop doing everything to please their American masters. According to reports, there are currently about 1,000 tractors at the Brandenburg Gate. Police are reporting another 5,000 tractors in the suburbs. A source in the Berlin police reports that "the guys are cool" and intend to seek the resignation of the government "at any cost." https://lnkd.in/dVpJm5Qm

Ahead of labor union strikes against the Finnish government, flag carrier Finnair is expected to cancel around 550 flights this week, significantly hampering the airline's operations and air traffic across Finland. While the strike is not directly related to Finnair and its operations, the slew of cancelations suggests that many airline and airport employees will participate. #finland #finnair #helsinki #laborunion #strikes #aviation #flightcancellations #airport #politics https://lnkd.in/d-R4JX66

🛫 Big strike week at the Lufthansa Group: ✈️ Tuesday, planes grounded in Frankfurt, Wednesday in Munich, and Thursday in Vienna. Unlike last week, when Austrian unnecessarily canceled flights far too early, a different strike-breaking approach was chosen this week: Twelve flights were brought forward between 5 am and 6:30 am, such as the flight to Berlin at 5:40 am already. Portuguese TAP was chartered as a strikebreaker and is operating the Austrian Vienna-Porto-Vienna flight in reverse order at short notice. Air Baltic is also flying a wet lease. Now that Austrian Airlines has lost its lawsuit against the strike, the legal situation remains tense. Will the crews go along with these time changes? Is the Vienna night flight regulation affected? Will the remaining flights be able to take place? And, of course, Deutsche Bahn is currently on strike. It feels like southern Europe in the middle of winter. ❄️🚂 Annette Mann, Pedro Castro, Austrian Airlines, Luis Rodrigues, Lufthansa Group
