What is the future of shipping and what’s required of maritime authorities and ports? Could we ever sea an Intelligent Transport System (ITS) on our oceans? Where do VTS, Aids to Navigation, pilotage and security (cyber and physical) converge, and will this convergence be enabled by technology? Where do current and emerging technologies such as global real time connectivity, advanced optics, next generation RF scanning (passive and active), multi fusion tracking, LiDAR, real time draft detection, and even AI, fit in with above? Is there a place for global port to port planning, running like a standard supply chain and factoring in variables like route, weather, fuel, environment, commodity value, emissions, etc., seeing the most economical route taken with no queuing, the avoidance of hazards, and the lowest environmental impact? When does the knowledge, expertise and control presently enacted onboard ships become available onshore and enable real time oversight, support and guidance from ashore, leading into remote control and furthermore, into partial or full automation? Who is solving this for our region? As it has done for a generation, AMS Group and our global partners are developing options and solutions to many of the questions above. We are looking to the future and driving industry and investing heavily in our own R&D to ensure we are ready to support and enable the shipping industry of tomorrow. Maritime & Infrastructure Technology Solutions, Poseidon Sea Pilots,Access Datacom, and Maritime & Aviation Survival Solutions are proud AMS Group companies. Together they maintain, safeguard, and secure Australia’s (and Asia-Pacific’s) critical infrastructure and provide mission critical services and solutions in the technology, infrastructure, security, marine pilotage, marine operations, and search and rescue domains. #technology #infrastructure #security #marinepilotage #searchandrescue #aviation #maritime #vts #IALA #ASIAL #AMPI #portsaustralia
