Today is a special day for me, as I celebrate my 3-year #anniversary of working at Generation ✨ We've achieved a lot together and the best is yet to come 👇
When I joined Generation on the 8th of March 2021, we were just crossing the 50,000 mark of people around the world that we've trained and placed into meaningful careers that would otherwise be inaccessible to them. Fast forward three years later and we are now at over 105,000 lives transformed globally. Also, given our focus on helping people achieve #EconomicMobility we've recently reached $1 billion in wages earned by our graduates since 2015.
With all the above milestones also came some well-deserved recognition for our work. We were ranked by thedotgood. platform as one of the top 200 social good organisations (SGOs) in the world (#62 in their 2023 shortlist). Moreover, QS Quacquarelli Symonds awarded us with the 'Global EdTech Award' and the 'Gold Award for Nurturing Employability' through our programs. Finally, earlier this year we also won two Anthem Awards in the #DEI category.
And with this milestones and awards came the opportunity to move the needle in the workforce development space through advocacy and thought leadership. We've published two reports last year, 'Launching a Tech Hiring Revolution' (https://lnkd.in/eDZBFTXU) and 'The Midcareer Opportunity' (https://lnkd.in/egdSmuPX providing recommendations to employers, employees, and governments on how to recruit top talent based on #skills.
But today is also a special day for society, as we celebrate the women we have the privilege to call colleagues, mentors, friends, and sources of inspiration. And, at Generation, we have inspiring women across the organisation from the #leadership team, to the global functional teams, and various country teams. Thus, I'd like to celebrate some of them today. This list is in no way exhaustive, but it gives you an idea of the many amazing women behind Generation:
Mona for being the visionary leader behind the organisation who offers us a constant source of inspiration and guidance as we continue to grow our impact.
Jennifer for being an empowering and supportive manager who taught me a lot about inclusive communications and the importance of being a servant leader.
Kelly for her curiosity and motivation to continuously better her best who, together with her team, enabled us to operate during the dark times of COVID.
Gabriela (Gabi) for being such an incredible Ambassador for Generation in LATAM and for leading her team in such an empowering and supportive way.
Rachel for her contagious passion and dedication to our mission who showed me the meaning of one of our key values at Generation, going further together.
María (Maru) for always being ready to serve, both her Global MarCom team and our Alumni Ambassadors, and for being there for me when I needed her.
Here's to all the amazing women who support, empower, & inspire us! #IWD24
