The Visalia Navigation Center is here! 🎉 We were excited to celebrate the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, in partnership with Community Services and Employment Training (CSET), TC Hope, and Self-Help Enterprises. The Visalia Navigation Center is the first of its kind in Tulare County, and will have 100-beds for people experiencing homelessness with priority entry of those residing in prioritized encampments sites. It is a service enriched comprehensive center that will help transition people into permanent housing and receive an abundance of on-site resources. Residents will receive enhanced case management, three daily meals, healthcare services, mental health services, job training/placement assistance, and connections to long-term housing solutions. Residents will also receive two-years of follow-up case management after permanent housing placement to ensure long-term housing stability. Two draft ordinances have been prepared that will amend the City's Zoning Code regarding accessory dwelling units (ADUs) and single-family residential development. 🏡 The ADU Ordinance is an update to the City's existing zoning regulations for the construction of ADUs in the city to comply with State ADU law and the recently adopted Housing Element. 🏡 The Single-Family Objective Design Standards Ordinance establishes a set of objective design standards for developers to follow when constructing new single-family homes in Visalia.
