Jackfruit is the king of all fruits. So the masses point out in the Eastern regions of India, even though they have the Mango lovers glowering at them, very dismayed. Yesterday, it was Sarath City Capital Mall 's turn to receive the jackfruit of its labours for the past many years. Prestige Group and Forum Malls were hosting a session yesterday at the Phygital Retail Convention , with the effervescent Muhammad Ali taking up the moderator's role. He had thoughtfully invited Mr. Syed Aslam, our Managing Director, to be a part of the discussion through Vinay Shenoy . The session was about Big Billion Malls and the secret sauce behind their success. I wouldn't go into what was said by the various speakers - Yogeshwar Sharma , pramod arora , Pankaj Renjhen and Shubhranshu Pani as that will be put across by IMAGES Group at some point in time. But during the discussion, while addressing our mall's performance, in a discussion with Mr. Aslam, it was pointed out that we weren't just a big billion mall, we were a two billion mall as we had crossed ₹2000 Crores in net revenue in 23-24, something that we didn't do a song and dance about before this, thinking about probity in such things. It was also pointed out that we had actually done ₹260 Crores in net revenues last December. Then came a smattering of claps, which of course, sounded like a stadium full of clapping fans to my untrained ears. Then, we realised that over and beyond all the footfalls and marketing stuff, brands mostly cared about the sales. And that we had been on the right path all through. It gives us a high. It gives us impetus to create a new mix of brands and experiences. More edgy, more fun and beautiful. Keep tilting the sails, in search of more wind! Thank you, our Retail Partners! Thank you Forum Malls for the extraordinarily large heartedness. #shopping #malls #experiences #visualmerchandising #malldesign #entertainment #amusement #foodandbeverage #marketing #retailpartners #retail #D2C #feedback

Let me tell you what the value of ₹1 rupee is... Imagine 500 people at Big Bazaar, each leaving behind 1 rupee in change without asking for it back. - Daily Impact: 500 people × 1 rupee = 500 rupees - Yearly Impact for One Store: 500 rupees × 365 days = 182,500 rupees With 1500 Big Bazaar stores in the country: - Total Annual Impact: 182,500 rupees × 1500 stores = 273,750,000 rupees (27.375 crores) And here’s the catch: This amount isn’t taxed because it’s just 1 rupee! Now you understand why prices often end in 49, 99, or 999 rupees. Share this to spread the awareness! #RetailSecrets #MoneyMatters #PricingStrategy #HiddenWealth #rupee #currency

When it comes to department stores, just 1% of the highest spenders contribute to around 25% of average sales. Is it any wonder that stores are embracing their VIP clients? Special offerings, custom change rooms and lounges, restaurants and balconies and curated service are some of the perks. #vip #luxuryretail #customerexperience #retailtrends #departmentstores

Strip malls are becoming more popular because they are inexpensive to buy, build, and maintain than traditional malls. Also, they offer a quick in-and-out solution to most customers, with fewer queues at pay points, and most of the common brands offer faster dine-in, checkout, and delivery services. With Dubai's rapid population growth and real estate prices predicted to soar, Strip malls are expected to become increasingly popular.

The first quarter of 2024 showed positive growth for retailers despite initial setbacks due to cold weather in January. March saw a significant 6.1% year-over-year visit boost, driven by increased retail activity leading up to Easter Sunday. Retail prices remain high, but consumer confidence is slowly improving. Value-priced, essential, and wellness-related categories performed well in Q1, with Discount & Dollar Stores leading with 11.2% YoY quarterly visit growth. Grocery Stores, Fitness, Superstores, and Dining also outperformed Overall Retail in terms of quarterly visit growth. Home Improvement & Furnishings maintained a minor year-over-year visit gap despite challenges in the housing market. #retailsales #grocery #superstores #dining #homeimprovement #placerai #emarketer

The worlds of luxury fashion and grocery are merging via new retail concepts, such as the latest pop-up from Flamingo Estate and Mytheresa in the Hamptons. Our head of foresight, Fiona Harkin weighs in on this luxe foodie community trend for Vogue Business. “The key trend to note is how consumers are seeking out ‘status snacks’.
