Red Sandstone Case Study: Showcasing Harmony Between Design and Nature In architectural design, using a single stone material to decorate the façade can often result in a unique and striking design style. Take, for example, this building’s façade adorned with red sandstone; its texture and color harmoniously blend with the surrounding environment, closely connecting to nature and creating a seamless visual experience. This material not only imparts a profound sense of cultural and historical continuity to the new building but also emphasizes aesthetics, environmental relationships, and sustainability in its design philosophy. Red sandstone is widely used in public buildings, historical architecture, and structures that demand cultural depth. During the use and processing of red sandstone, designers have chosen not to engage in complex treatments but instead adopted a minimalist approach that preserves the stone's natural texture and quality. This design philosophy makes the façade feel more authentic and pure, highlighting the inherent beauty of red sandstone and reflecting a deep respect for natural materials. Through such design, red sandstone not only enhances the building's aesthetic appeal but also strengthens its harmony with the surrounding environment, showcasing the dialogue between architects and nature. We believe that true design is a response to and respect for nature. "Fragmented Facade” and wanting to emulate a Purist ideology, the dichotomy in Architecture . Residence Progression Architect Aestheticism Architects Purist sense made to prevail with wood clad portals, likely describes an architectural design that combines modernist principles with natural materials. - **Fragmented facade**: The building’s exterior is likely characterized by irregular or non-continuous elements, creating a visually dynamic and possibly asymmetrical appearance. - **Following a purist sense**: The design adheres to purist architectural principles, which emphasize simplicity, clean lines, and a focus on function. - **Wood clad portals**: Doorways or entry points are covered or accented with wood, adding warmth and a natural element to the otherwise minimalist and potentially stark design. Overall, the description suggests a built form that blends contemporary, minimalist design with organic materials to create a striking and harmonious structure. #fragmentedarchitecture #architecture #art #purist #modernism #gestalt #wood #clad #facade #residence #design #fashion #facade #architecture #design #facadelovers #facadedesign #architecturelovers #interiordesign #archilovers #facades #art #interior #construction #arquitectura #photography #archdaily #architecturedesign #exterior #architectural #home #ModernLuxury #FunctionalElegance #ArchitecturalExcellence #UrbanLiving #SustainableDesign #SeamlessIntegration #NaturalLight #SophisticatedLiving #ContemporaryLiving #LuxuryHome #SereneOasis #TimelessDesign #GreenLiving #EfficientSpaces #Craftsmanship #NewDelhiArchitecture #AestheticismDesign #ArchitectSameerPandit #UrbanLandscape #EcoFriendlyLiving #TranquilSpaces #MeticulousDetail #HarmoniousDesign #SophisticatedColorPalette #IndoorOutdoorConnection #EverydayLuxury #EfficientLiving #DreamHome

The Importance of Selecting the Right Materials in Architecture Choosing the right materials is crucial for a project's success. They directly impact the design’s aesthetic, durability, and functionality, influencing how a space feels and performs over time. Materials must not only complement the design but also support its purpose—whether it’s insulation, acoustics, or structural integrity. Selecting the right materials is crucial to ensure a project’s design, functionality, and sustainability. For example, choosing wood or microcement in a bathroom may lead to damage over time due to water exposure. Wood, unless specially treated, can warp or rot, and microcement can crack if not sealed properly. On the other hand, materials like ceramic or marble are more suitable for high-moisture environments. They are durable, water-resistant, and can still complement the overall aesthetic, ensuring both beauty and long-term functionality. #rightmaterials #importanceofmaterials #acousticmaterials #purpose #architecture

Our idea was to establish a cohesive relationship between the architectural space, the carpets, and the objects. We achieved this by generating space using the carpets and placing objects within them. We suspended column-shaped carpets from the ceiling. The outer side of the carpets featured vibrant and colorful patterns, while the inner side was white and provided space for showcasing contemporary objects. Some columns were made of just a carpet, while others consisted of two or three carpets. The orientation of the columns was diverse, allowing for flexibility and adaptability to future needs. The column carpets interacted with the pre-existing columns of the building. Unlike the typical display of carpets from a fixed perspective, the experience of viewing the carpets in this gallery is dynamic, involving movement and spatiality, complemented by the reflection of surrounding mirrors. Additionally, the kilims were suspended and displayed. The display of objects was arranged at the end of the gallery, considering other exhibition requirements. Some edges were placed at the bottom of the carpets to protect them during cleaning. This project ignited the experience of integrating architecture and its contents besides the space production without construction. #paadarchitects #yasermousapour #architecture #interiorarchitecture #renovation #retail #gallery #column-carpet #carpet #iraniancarpet #architizer #isfahan

A New Architectural Marvel in Vancouver Omer Arbel, a Vancouver-based designer, has introduced an innovative family home in Canada, characterized by monumental lily pad-like concrete columns. This architectural marvel, named 75.9, stands on a vast countryside acreage south of Vancouver. Arbel's revolutionary technique involves pouring concrete into fabric to craft these impressive columns, which he envisioned as "found archeological ruins." The home itself is meticulously built around these columns, creating a unique blend of modern and ancient aesthetics. The living spaces are arranged into four double-height volumes made of glass and cedar wood, connected by passages hidden beneath a "floating carpet" of the surrounding hayfield. Inside, the home unfolds like a "cinematographic narrative of domestic habitation," with each column varying in height and position, contrasting the rough concrete with polished floors and warm timber fixtures. A lush indoor garden further enhances the space, merging nature with architectural innovation. For Arbel, 75.9 marks a significant milestone as it is the first project where he applied his process-based design approach on an architectural scale after years of refining his material working methods at the object scale. Have you seen such innovative architecture before? Share your thoughts below! --- P.S. If you enjoyed this post, consider resharing it and follow for more updates on groundbreaking designs and architectural wonders. All images © Fahim Kassam. A Masterpiece of Classical Architecture for HDMC at Hubli As an architect with 20 years of experience designing classical-style buildings that embody elegance and timeless sophistication, I am honored to present my vision for HDMC at Hubli. Classical architecture transcends trends; it represents balance, grandeur, and an intricate attention to detail, qualities that perfectly suit a project of this stature. The exterior of the building is envisioned to exude an aura of authority and refinement. Drawing inspiration from classical principles, the façade features symmetrically aligned ornate columns, detailed cornices, and grand arched windows. The central entrance is designed to impress, with a striking pediment and a sense of scale that welcomes while commanding respect. High-quality stonework and subtle decorative elements tie the entire composition together, creating a structure that is both imposing and graceful. The interiors carry the elegance of the exterior into a functional and awe-inspiring space. Detailed coffered ceilings, exquisite moldings, and classical motifs add character and charm to every room. Thoughtfully designed spaces ensure optimal functionality, with natural light streaming through expansive windows to highlight the interior craftsmanship. Modern utilities and layouts are seamlessly integrated, ensuring the building is as efficient as it is beautiful. To achieve the desired grandeur for HDMC at Hubli, the focus is on: 1. Symmetry and Balance: Adhering to classical proportions to create a sense of order and harmony. 2. Detailed Ornamentation: Incorporating classical motifs and embellishments that highlight the building’s significance. 3. Material Excellence: Using premium materials to ensure longevity and a premium finish. 4. Functional Grandeur: Marrying classical aesthetics with the practical needs of a modern civic space. With two decades of experience in designing classical buildings, my approach ensures that every project is a timeless masterpiece. The HDMC building at Hubli will stand as a testament to the elegance and sophistication that classical architecture brings, showcasing the perfect harmony of heritage and utility.
