In a world not designed with accessibility in mind, brand marketing can help lead the way in making the world a smaller, more inclusive place. As a deaf CEO, I believe deeply in inclusive community which is why I launched within Civic an accessibility practice helping brands that earnestly want to make an impact do their best work. Brands aiming to live their values and reach their full community have a moral and financial obligation to deliver, and unlock, value in the accessibility world. This community is enormous. 1 in 4 adults (27%) in the US have some type of disability and 1.3B people worldwide or 16% of the global population identifies as disabled. This community is woefully underrepresented by many leading global brands who, if at all, only narrowly target disabilities. It was a pleasure speaking with Ewan Larkin from Ad Age to discuss how Civic and I are a trusted partner for brands invested in or looking to explore these opportunities.
