The £5.5 million Stowmarket Station bridge project is underway. Designed by Expedition Engineering Ltd and ARX, the new bridge will offer better accessibility, improved security, and reduced long-term maintenance. The upgrade is part of Network Rail's push to modernise infrastructure, with the project expected to be completed in Summer 2025. Greater Anglia's Marek Dowejko and Network Rail’s Anthony Dewar highlight the bridge’s efficiency and passenger benefits. https://lnkd.in/eTfPeR4Q

Yes, construction can be annoying. Whether you’ve just flown for hours and want to avoid any more hassle or you’re trying to catch a flight and face frustrating barriers, it’s not always convenient. However, it’s important to look at the bigger picture. At SEA Airport, we’re currently upgrading the garage elevators—not just the cabs, but also the engines (the parts you don't see) with newer, more efficient technology. Plus, did you know that the lower level drop-off location is now entirely accessible to disabled passengers? If you’re interested in learning more about these construction projects and their purposes, you can join the Port of Seattle Commission meetings, stay informed, and share your comments! #Accessibility #PublicEngagement https://lnkd.in/dJXg67n4

Construction works for the brand-new #Koralmbahn started in 2001, and now, more than 20 years later, the railway is getting closer and closer to being operational. For freight, the ports of #Venice, #Trieste and #Koper will be more accessible once traffic kicks off. The building phase is over, so there are only some last hurdles to clear before we reach that point in December 2025. #railfreight #railfreightnews #railcargonews

Ever thought about building a car in your driveway? Probably not because why go through all that hassle when you can just drive one off the lot? That's the beauty of off-site construction: homes are made with precision in a factory, saving time and ensuring top-notch quality. Why settle for anything less? Dave Verna dives deeper into this idea in his article here: https://lnkd.in/eJeNYaNM #ModularConstruction #Efficiency #Quality #GRM

We're witnessing a significant milestone in our railway project as the BEBO arch bridges gradually disappear from view, concealed by the ongoing overfill. These arches, which once stood prominently during construction, are now taking their final form as the foundation of a resilient, sustainable, and visually pleasing underpass for the new railway line. As the landscape transforms, it's incredible to see how these engineering marvels are seamlessly integrating into their surroundings, ensuring both durability and aesthetic harmony. This project not only enhances our transportation infrastructure but also reflects our commitment to building with sustainability and long-term resilience in mind. The final result will be a testament to innovative design and careful planning, creating a lasting impact on the communities we serve. #Infrastructure #Sustainability #EngineeringExcellence #RailwayInnovation #ConstructionMilestones

Impressive site and construction methodology (ILM with deck segments made locally at site factory ) 👍🏻
Fantastic afternoon on Wednesday visiting Victor at HS2 Colne Valley Viaduct with other members of the Rail Infrastructure team. Victor has been on secondment for VolkerFitzpatrick (ALIGN JV) for nearly a year and has overseen the construction of the piers and segmental deck. We look forward to seeing you back in the design office soon! Samuel Sri Hongyi

It’s now needless greater Toronto construction (summer) season. Pylons blocking off street/highway lanes yet no visible sign of work being done. Street closures for work that should take months yet is done in years! A Toronto cross-town light rapid transit system that has taken longer to complete than another country’s city has taken to build an international airport and a entire subway system. These delays are costly to governments and taxpayers as millions are lost due to extra commuting times as well as an environmental impact due to vehicle idling. Governments need to create greater oversight on construction progress and more scrutiny on proposed capital projects as well as the bidding process.
