🌏 Justice: The Missing Piece in DEI Conversations in Aotearoa🗣️ In Aotearoa, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts are essential, but they often miss a key element: Justice. While DEI strives for representation and fairness, justice is about addressing the deep-rooted inequalities caused by colonisation—particularly for Māori communities. Without justice, DEI risks being superficial, failing to tackle the structural harm that holds communities back. It’s time to go beyond inclusion and work towards true systemic change. It's time for the JEDI framing! As a Pākehā positioning myself as Tangata Tiriti, I work with others—especially fellow Pākehā and those newly arrived trying to find their place within the unique context of Aotearoa.
