What’s the difference between hospice and palliative care? 🤔 While both focus on comfort and quality of life, hospice is for patients with a terminal illness and a life expectancy of six months or less, typically when curative treatment is no longer pursued. Palliative care, however, can be provided at any stage of illness and alongside curative treatments. Both offer compassionate care, but with different goals in mind. 🌿 #HospiceCare #PalliativeCare #ComfortCare #QualityOfLife #LegacyHospice #CompassionateCare

Palliative care is more than just managing symptoms—it’s about addressing the emotional, spiritual, and psychological needs of patients and their families. It focuses on improving quality of life and ensuring that individuals receive dignified, respectful care in their most vulnerable moments. In the healthcare sector, we are all part of a collective effort to make sure that everyone in need of palliative care feels supported, valued, and comfortable. This day serves as a reminder of the vital role that hospice and palliative care play in our communities. #AskhamVillageCommunity #WorldHospiceAndPalliativeCareDay #PalliativeCare #HealthcareProfessionals #DignityInCare
