Something I love about building internal products is that they empower fellow associates to deliver even better for our external customers. You can’t deliver any better for your external customers than you do for your internal ones. #productmanagement #prodmgt #productleadership #valuechain #customerexperience

I think if I ever had a side hustle, it'd be setting up people's at-home workspaces. We had to play musical offices at our house this weekend. Julia took my downstairs office, I took her upstairs office, and set up a desk for the girls. I swapped around our 2, 60x30 Vari desks and now everyone's got full connectivity and home office set ups in less than 2 hours. I'm sure my wife thinks I'm ridiculous, but I also zip tie and try to hide / manage cables and wires the best I can. In my experience, a clean and decluttered space help maintain focus and removes distractions. Now, I just need my Apple Watch and ŌURA ring to keep the pace with how often I'm going up and down stairs! 😅

I was listening to a random station on Apple Music when the song “Bye Bye Bye” from the 90’s boy band NSYNC came on. Usually, I’d skip it, not my kind of music. But I noticed that it was labeled “(from Deadpool & Wolverine)” Having just seen the movie this past weekend (I know, don’t judge me), it made me aware of the power of brand association. This song is now considered current and cool because of how incredibly it was featured and used in the Deadpool & Wolverine movie. Oh, and if you haven’t seen the movie yet, the scene in question is worth the price of admission alone! #productmanagement #productmarketing #brandassociation #brandawareness #MCU #Deadpool #Wolverine

A little while ago, the CEO of Sonos, Inc. published an open letter to their customers regarding negative #customerexperiences with the latest update to their mobile app. I got to say, I was impressed. That took guts for a CEO to come out and say, “I want to begin by personally apologizing for disappointing you.” He followed up by sharing what was on the mobile team’s roadmap for the next several months. I’m an unapologetic Sonos fan and customer, and I was even more impressed with this level of vulnerability shown by its leader. I wish more #productleaders could be as open and vulnerable with their teams and customers. #productmanagement #productleadership #leadershipskills

OK, so I have to brag on my youngest for a bit, she’s about to enter 6th grade and she absolutely understood the assignment! She’s been working on combining digital art she’s created with a movie making app and she ran into an issue trying to use #DRM protected music she got from Apple Music. So she records a video of herself, explaining her issue, and asking what DRM was, if it was important, and how I could help her work around it to get the music she wanted into her animated video. She used her phone to record the video, while pointing to her iPad, so I could see what she was talking about. She proactively asked for help, and did it in a way where I could easily understand her problem, and then told her that I’d help her buy the songs she wanted tonight so she could use them. It was probably the coolest instance of tech support I’ve provided for my family. #productmanagement #customerexperience #digitaldesign #digitalart #prouddadmoment

Nothing kills a #customerexperience in a customer service situation like wading through an impersonal #IVR to talk to a human being. Seriously, has anyone gone through numerous, impersonal or ill-defined options and come out thinking "gosh, this was a great experience, I'm in such a better mood now, I can't wait to see what the next menu says!" 😐 You start losing your customers when you have poor customer #experiencedesign. #productmanagement #customerservice

Friendly reminder that testing preventative controls throughout the user experience should not be an afterthought. I’m sure someone thought that a metal cable would keep the wildlife out of the bin… but the black bear cub that woke us up at midnight managed to get a good meal without breaking the cable or the bin. And I’m not upset with the bear, I’m actually pretty impressed by its problem solving. #productmanagement #automatedtesting #controls #customerexperience #BearsBeetsBattlestarGalactica
