Happy to share that I have completed my Online Summer Internship Programme. Design is something which is extremely important for a Chemical Engineer as it helps visualize various processes and how they might function. This internship has helped elevate a lot of my theoretical knowledge which will help me as I enter the final year of my B. Tech and prepare myself for placements. MATLAB is one of the most versatile software's and finally learning the intricacies has helped me, from being able to solve mathematical problems, plotting data, visualizing data, using graphs etc. all have been extremely fascinating. I even designed a Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger using MATLAB letting the code do all the calculations and iterations, I tried designing a GUI as well but couldn't get it to run smoothly. AutoCAD is another software I got the opportunity to learn during the course of this internship, one of the most common design software'. AutoCAD was used to design tools, structures and objects in 2-D and 3-D, the depth with which AutoCAD allows the users to modify, design, model and then visualize various object and structures, helping implement imagination and designing it into reality was a journey filled with excitement and delight. I would like to thank the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers for this online internship program which helps to bridge the gap between theory and practice and makes students more prepared for a role in the Industry.

Eight years ago, as a fresh-faced undergrad student, I encountered the same question time and time again: Why mechanical engineering, especially as a female? From induction days to internships to job interviews, curiosity persisted. My response remained steadfast. I felt an undeniable pull towards the subject, captivated by the inner workings of machines and the marvels of science. Whether it was the grandeur of the power plant or the intricacies of drone motor assembly, the world of mechanical engineering beckoned me with its promise of innovation and discovery. As time passed and roles and responsibilities changed, my passion for the field remained the same. It wasn't just an interest; rather it was my escape route from the noise of the outside world. Immersing myself in concepts brought me a profound sense of satisfaction, fueling my insatiable curiosity. Gaining insights about old and new technologies, diving into books, and exploring advancements never felt like a chore. For me, it was an exhilarating journey of discovery and growth. Looking back, I realize that choosing mechanical engineering was not merely about trying something different—it was about embracing my calling and finding satisfaction in the pursuit of knowledge and understanding! Picture context - came across this old picture; drone fabrication- my friend Rohit Singh Wilkho & I undertook during undergrad, and the only thing that encouraged me to this was my curiosity! #WomenInSTEM # Heritage Institute of Technology
