I'm feeling incredibly grateful and inspired after spending a day surrounded by fellow internal communicators. ✨ It always reminds me how much I love what I do and why it's so important to show up, connect and learn from each other. Because showing up to industry events like this is wayyy more than just networking - which is always great, don't get me wrong! But, I walked away with a bazillion new ideas, more meaningful connections and new tools in my toolbox (tool belt? whatever, you get it.). Not to mention, I doodled my way through every presentation, which was equally satisfying as it was helpful to keep me focused. My favorite quote of the day was from my fellow Georgian, Jason Anthoine: "As communicators, we help employees see that change happens for, by and through them - not just 'to' them." Boom. Nailed it. I met amazingly talented new faces like Leah Sherman-Jones and Ally Bunin and got to catch up with an all time fave, Kristin Hancock, who is continuously learning new things about "southern hospitality". 😂 Brilliant Inkies Jackie Berg and Becky Sennett also hosted an incredible workshop with Firstup on storytelling through data viz. Who knew you only need 3 slides to tell a compelling data story to your stakeholders?! Not me! 🔥 A HUGE thank you to Chuck Gose, Erin Sherwood, and Sonia Fiorenza for making this all happen. If a Firstup Attune On Tour event is coming to a city near you, trust me—your future self will thank you for going!
